WHO IS THE HERO?

´ Jesus was the best person toever use a parable.

´ Jesus parables were simple

stories that cleared up a

teaching. Not to teach a new

lesson in its self.

´ It is easy to tell who the good

guy in many like the parable of

the good Samaritan, the

shepherd or the father who

waits for his son.

´ Except in our reading Luke

16:1-13



C AUGHT SLEEPING ON THE JOB

´ Let·s think about what kindof person this managerwas«

´

His work and the way helived his life did not winhim any friends.

´ When he is accused of steeling or loosing the

masters stuff his masteralready made up his mindthis was a SLACKER!!!(vs.2)



YOU¶RE FIRED

´ Now this guy doesn·t havea job and in that time healso lived at his mastersplace so he would behomeless.

´ This guy said in himself Ican·t work. Meaning hehas not done nor would

want to do an hard work.´ And this guy for his pride

would not be a beggar onthe street. (Vs.3)



SHREWD MOVE?

´ So this manager goes tohis masters books andfinds two people.

´

With these two he wouldtry and make a goodname for himself in thelast minute.

´ The master praised this

manager for what he didbut then Jesus did too.Why?



REST OF THE STORY

´ For the manager·s master why

would he say that the manager

was wise in what he did?

´ Maybe he himself might have

charged interest or maybe likedhow clever he was.

´ But Jesus being a perfect and

sinless men who was teaching

people to be the same was not

saying that being lazy or shady isgood.

´ Jesus can separate the good from

the bad.



LOOK AHEAD

´ Jesus is telling us in vs.9 isto be aware of our futureopportunities. To not justdo what comes easy with

our resources but to usethem to make friends of the people of the world.

´ But is he saying we need tohave an entourage of

friends we pay money for?´ At the end of vs.9 it says

that they may receive youinto everlasting habitation.



LOOK AHEAD

´ ´Theyµ are those Jesus speaks of in Mat 25:34-40.

´ It is giving and helping those around us as a

testimony to open them to telling the Gospel.

´ In Santiago 5:20 is tied to vs.9 which says´when you failµ in which we will all be bad

managers of God·s blessings but by helping and winning those of Mat 25 we cover many of our own sins.



TRUE RICHES

´ Jesus then tells us in

vs.10-12 that we must be

faithful and good with

the little we get or we willnot get the true riches.

´ Then finally Jesus in

vs.13 Jesus tells us that

we can not serve two

masters.
