  • 2010-2011 Section Officers

Meet your 2010-2011 section officers! Saturday night of section conclave

five arrowmen ran for offices from chief to secretary. After many speeches

the election resulted in the re-election of Section Chief Matt Kaney and

Vice- Chief Justin “jibjab” Jabs, As well as the election of new section

    secretary Marty Wessels.

My name is Matthew Joseph Kaney and I

am a decedent from the Canadian Giant. I

was very active in Takoda Lodge from the

beginning of its existence to the

culmination of being elected Lodge Chief.

Last year I was your Section Chief, and you

graciously elected me to a second term. I love going to the National Events

like NOAC and OAHA. I believe the most important position in the Order of

the Arrow is the position of Chapter Chief. That was my first position, and it

was the closest position to my fellow arrowmen. Lastly, I believe brotherly

love is at the core of our organization and should be woven into our daily

    lives. SKKEEEEUUUU!

    Adviser

    Let us all welcome Dan

    Gille of Mikano Lodge as

    he joins J.J., Cedor, and

Jim on the section C-3A advisory team.

  • A few words from your Vice Chief………

The New Year is coming! It's getting cold outside, and I wish I was as

comfortable in this weather as Waddles is. First and foremost, I hope

each and every lodge is on their way to becoming a Quality Lodge again

this year! If you need any assistance, let me know, I'm here for you

guys. Really! Looking ahead, another round of Lodge Assistance

Program visitations is coming up. For those of you that are unfamiliar

with "LAP", in a nutshell, a visitation team from the Section goes to

your lodge and has an open discussion about your successes and

challenges, in the end, helping you achieve Quality Lodge. Last year,

Isaac and I visited every lodge "of the land", and this year, my goal is

to visit three lodges. We are starting a rotation in which one year,

Wag-O-Shag, Timmeu, and Mikano lodges will be visited, and the next

year will be Mascoutens, Cho-Gun, and Takoda. This every-other-year

format will help ensure that the Section continues to help each and

every lodge be the best that they can be. So Wag-O-Shag, Timmeu, and

Mikano Lodge Chiefs, look out! I'll be contacting you soon to set a date.

Have a great winter and see you at your Winter Banquets, Arrowmen.

    JibJab out!

  • Brothers of Section C-3A, I hope this message finds you well fed from the turkey season and layering up for the cold months ahead. As you may know our Winter Council of Chiefs is rapidly approaching. I invite every arrowman to come to Mt. Olympus Resort in the Wisconsin Dells and give their input on what the section conclave should be. Also, you should stay Saturday night to create memories you will never forget with your

fellow brothers of C-3A. The brotherhood I have experienced is beyond mere words.

Come to Winter COC to enjoy the brotherhood experience that you can only get with the section! I want to take a moment to speak to the wonderful social media outlets we are going to utilize this year as a section. First and foremost, facebook. Search “Section C-3A the one and only” and join the group. Invite your friends, upload Boy Scout appropriate photos, add yourself to upcoming events, and utilize the

discussion topic option to post any questions or concerns you have with the section. Secondly, we have a twitter account @sectionc3a. Follow us on twitter and we will follow you. If you are a little confused about the linguistics I have used, I suggest you ask a friend about how to use facebook or twitter. Lastly, we use an interface

called section master to register for all events. The program lets us keep track of all registration and merchandise items you can buy online. It is pretty slick. All internet platforms are there for your benefit and I hope you take advantage of them.

I encourage everyone to advantage of these sometimes immediate communication mediums to become an informed member of the section and a member who registers on time and online. As always, if you have questions or comments please do not hesitate to call, text, tweet, im, or email me.

    Sincerely, Matt Kaney

    Section C-3A Chief
