FUNERAL GUIDELINES At San Antonio we have funeral guidelines that may be sent to you via e-mail upon request, or are on our website, which is currently under revision. 1.It is absolutely essential that you contact San Antonio and make the initial appointments and reservations with our Funeral Coordinator. This will ensure that appropriate arrangements are made and whatever rooms are required will be reserved. Family coming from elsewhere should not make travel arrangements until the date is confirmed. 2. Burial in San Antonio’s Memorial Garden can only take place when a Catholic funeral Mass has taken place in the Church. Every funeral Mass requires the presence of the mortal remains or ashes of the deceased. 3. Where cremains are involved, all the cremains must be buried together. They may not be divided according to Cannon Law and out of respect for the deceased. 4. Our guidelines for the celebration of funerals are in accordance with the teaching of the Church, as well as diocesan regulations, and are not negotiable. You may feel that we are being unduly restrictive, but our aim is to provide a dignified and prayerful Mass which complies with Church guidelines, is respectful of the deceased and also consoles the bereaved.
San Antonio Parish honored our First Responders at 11:00AM Mass Last Sunday. Again, we thank themfor all that they do, and have done, to protect us and keep us safe!

SAN ANTONIO CHURCH FAITH FORMATION
As catechists “We Are Called” to follow Jesus. We are called to share the good news of Jesus Christ at school, in our homes and in our neighborhoods. Today is Catechist Sunday, which is being celebrated in all the parishes in the Diocese of Venice. We are blessed with
sixteen Catechists who have answered this call, and we thank them for their dedication to our youth and their Catholic formation. A special recognition to Carmen Arce who served as a Catechist at San Antonio Church for fifteen years, preparing and nurturing faith, notably directing the Christmas Pageant, assembling, ironing, and managing the costumes. We appreciate your devotion, Carmen, and the charisma with which you served. Gracias! Welcome Middle School Youth, and Confirmation I and II classes as you resume Faith Formation this Sunday. Confirmandi: Classes start Sunday, September 22, 2019, in the Ministry Building Conference Room after the 9:00AM Family Mass and hospitality. Parents are asked to this initial meeting. If you need registration forms you may obtain forms from the Parish Office. If you have any questions you may email Terri Slattery at [email protected] or call the office at 941-624-3799.

NAME TAGS Get to know your fellow parishioners by wearing your name tags! If you don’t have a name tag order one at the Parish Office. Name tags are $10.00 each.
DO YOU LOVE PRO-LIFE ISSUES San Antonio is looking for a co-parish coordinator. Monthly morning meet ings are held to keep you up to date wi th Life happenings in the county so that you can br ing those resources back to the parish. For more information, please call Jeanne Berdeaux at 941-441-1101.
SAINT VINCENT DEPAUL We are in desperate need of just about everything. Our coffers are quite bare. We are in need of toiletries: deodorant, disposable razors, toothpaste, shampoo and dish soap. Foodwise, we need canned spaghetti sauce, pasta, canned fruit,
baked beans, soup and tuna. As always, we thank you greatly for your continued generosity.
THANKSGIVING IS FAST APPROACHING What are you thankful for? Perhaps you are thankful for your grandchildren, your health, your recovery from a serious illness. Perhaps you are thankful for many years of marriage with your spouse. Whatever it is, you can memorialize it with a brick in the Holy Family patio. You have three lines of 13 characters to detail what you would like to say. Can’t get it all in such a small space? San Antonio is offering a special for Thanksgiving with $25 off a second brick. That would be two bricks for $175.00. The type would be left- or right-justified, so it would read properly. Some examples are: “I am thankful for answered prayers.” “I am thankful for my family.” “I am thankful for renewed health (or good health).” “I am thankful for my new grandchild. “I am thankful for God’s many blessings.” There are brick forms in the church, or stop by the office to order yours today.
FINAL NOTICE We will soon be placing our annual envelope order for the upcoming 2020 year. If any changes need to be made on your envelopes or if you no longer wish to use the envelopes please contact our Ministry Building office at 941-624-3799 to let us know. Thank you.
