BIMEcobuild has joined forces with NBS to deliver free Building Information Modelling (BIM) training for every level – from the technical and granular, through to the basics for those just starting out. As the first live event to provide free BIM education for all, Ecobuild will help to up-skill the entire BIM chain, including architects, designers, engineers, surveyors and facilities managers with a three-day seminar programme.

DESIGNING BEttER BUILDINGS

The Designing Better Buildings theatre will look at how to realise good quality and low energy buildings that promote the well being of occupiers. It will unveil the different approaches to low energy design including fabric first, Passivhaus and building services and will also cover the requirements of building regulations, rating systems and cost effective, good design.

WATERAttracting the largest water community of any UK event, Ecobuild’s dedicated water area and content programme sponsored by Wavin is set to draw senior decision-makers from across the supply chain.

Over 6,000 attendees keen to specify water management and efficiency solutions will learn of the latest consultancy and services, water efficient and water recycling products, and water infrastructure innovations. Amongst the 6,000+ were senior figures from AECOM, Crossrail, Deloitte, Sainsbury’s, Foster & Partners, Make Architects, JD Wetherspoon, Foster Wilson Architects, Whitbread, Metropolitan Police and the London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham and Newham.

REFURB & RETROFIT

Strategies for promoting successful, widespread refurbishment are proving elusive. The Green Deal hasn’t delivered and ECO has been cut back. The Refurb & Retrofit theatre sponsored by Glow-Worm will cover the latest successful refurbishment strategies with case studies at the individual, neighbourhood and community scale and the most effective ways of leveraging government incentives.

BUILDING PERFORMANCE

The energy performance of newly completed buildings is under the spotlight as the energy performance of new buildings is frequently much worse than design predictions. The unintended consequences of low energy design, specifically overheating, are also under scrutiny.

Sponsored by Celotex, this theatre will provide updates on research into these issues and look at strategies to mitigate these problems. It will also cover government initiatives including government soft landings that are intended to deliver better performing buildings to the public sector.

“Ecobuild is the touch point for the entire sustainable built environment, which is crucial for Aggregate Industries as we begin to see purchasing responsibilities shift to multiple points in the supply chain. We will be out in force at Ecobuild to increase our network of architects and suppliers and forge new partnerships with audiences we would not traditionally reach through existing channels. Traditionally at Ecobuild, purchasers loved to touch and feel products and solutions. However, as their needs become more sophisticated, it’s the technical detail they require to ensure products deliver on performance.”

Shelley FroSt, Head of Sustainability, Aggregate Industries UK

“Ecobuild 2015 is our chosen platform to formally launch two brand new products including our ground-breaking window system, which uses a tried and tested material as an innovative thermal barrier. Ecobuild allows us to meet and network with our lifeblood of architects, specifiers, fabricators and main contractors along with the wider sustainable built environment chain.”

Steve Wightman, Director, Senior Architectural Systems

“Celotex has attended Ecobuild for the last 2 years and have found the atmosphere, audience and technical focus has increased, making it the biggest annual event Celotex attends. We are returning to continue our association with Ecobuild and sponsoring the Building Performance area allows us to partner with industry professionals to discuss the prevalent topics that impact the Construction Industry to date. We are looking forward to 2015 and to working with Ecobuild again.”

lizzie Seaton, Marketing Communications Manager, Celotex
