Preliminary ResearchPreliminary Research

One handed controllers do One handed controllers do exist, but their aesthetics exist, but their aesthetics make them unusable on a make them unusable on a regular basis.regular basis.

Not all aspects of a controller Not all aspects of a controller are used at all times in most are used at all times in most games.games.

A standard game controller A standard game controller has 8 buttons, a 4-direction has 8 buttons, a 4-direction pad and 2 analog “control pad and 2 analog “control sticks”, each with two axis’.sticks”, each with two axis’.

SolutionSolution•Standard Joystick is used as a base and functions as primary analog axis.

•The circuit for interface with the game console will be removed from a universal game controller.

•Buttons placed under inside of fingers (“shoulder”) and finger tips.

•Analog stick placed on top of joystick, to be used by thumb

•Mode switch allows either of the analog sticks to alternately function as the directional pad, depending on game being played.
