Exalted Ruler’s Message
F all has officially ar-
rived and with it the
return of Sunday
morning breakfast, and week-
ly Trap Shoot.
The District Deputy Grand
Exalted Ruler for the Central
District, and his suite, con-
ducted its annual audit of our
Lodge on October 8th. I am
pleased to report no major
issues were identified. He,
along with dignitaries from
the State Elks Association
also attended our initiation
on October 14th. District
Deputy Robert Claffey, Jr.,
spoke to our members and
recognized the effort of Lodge
No. 2202 in our community
service efforts, veteran sup-
port, and Camp Sunrise pro-
grams. State Elks Association
President, Peter Freiler, pre-
sented our new members with
his State pin, and spoke about
what means to be proud of
"Elkdom."
Tom Wieleba and Amy
Bassette hosted the Polish
Night Dinner on October
17th, and Dug Kehl hosted
the German Night Dinner on
October 24th. Thank you so
much for all your hard work,
not only on the day of the
dinner, but also for all the
prep work prior to and clean
up after. A special thank you
goes out to all the volunteers
who helped Tom, Amy and
Doug.
As the holiday season ap-
proaches, I’d like to remind
everyone we have two major
events coming which need
your charity in gift donation
and as volunteers: The Veter-
an’s holiday dinner on De-
cember 7th, and the Camp
Sunrise Children’s Holiday
Party on December 13th. I
look forward to seeing you at
these events.
I want to wish all of you a
safe Thanksgiving holiday.

Elk of the Month
Caroline Connors
After becoming a member last
year, Caroline hit the ground
running. She chaired the Veter-
an’s holiday dinner committee
and became a member of the
House and ENF Committees.
A $2,500 donation made to
Cherish the Children Founda-
tion here in Glastonbury on
behalf of our Lodge was a re-
sult of her efforts to research,
apply for and receive National
Elks Foundation grant money.
She took a lead role in bringing
the setback league and 3-ball
pool into the Lounge and will
again be the chair of this year’s
Veteran’s holiday dinner.
