The Veltech Dr RR & Dr SR University, Avadi, Chennai -600062, India is poised to organize the fourth International Conference on Smart Technologies and Management for Computing, Communi-cation, Controls, Energy and Materials (ICSTM) 2017 in collabo-ration with the Oklahoma State University under the aegis of IEEE during 02-04, August 2017 in its campus.

The Trust founded by the Educational-Philanthropic Personalities- Dr. R. Rangarajan and Dr. Sagunthala Ran-garajan, the Founder President and the Chancellor respectively, promoted the erstwhile Veltech Engineering College established in 1997 as Veltech Dr. RR & Dr. SR University in 2008 with the approval of UGC u/s 3 of UGC Act 1956. The University is accredited with A Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).The University offers Undergraduate, Post-graduate and Doctoral Programmes in Engi-neering and Technology, Science, Media Technology and Communication and Management Studies. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was established in the year 1997. The depart-ment has grown to current strength of 1100 students from a humble beginning with 250 students. Our de-partment equipped with latest state-of-the-art laboratories. The department have a dedicated team of faculty with 08 Professors, 16 Associate Professors and 47 Assistant Professors. Our department has received financial grants towards conduct of various departmental activities through CSIR, DRDO and IEEE Madras Section for the past few years. The curriculum provides scope to the students for undertaking internship for one semester in reputed institution / industry / research organizations in India and abroad. The primary objectives of ICSTM 2017 are to:Provide a platform for researchers to share their new findings / innovative applications in smart technologies on Computing, Communication, Controls, Energy and Materials with peers.Facilitate networking among leading academicians, scientists, engineers and industry professionals for fostering collaborative research.

The outcomes of ICSTM are :• Enhanced understanding of scope for researching in the areas of one’s interest • Revelation of contempory thinking on future research • Constructive suggestions for overcoming snags in reserach ideas• Nomination of the papers presented in the conference for inclusion in IEEE Xplore

The researhers in India and abroad from the academic institutions (faculty and students), industry, government and R &D organizations are invited to submit their original research papers for present-ing in ICSTM 2017. For paper submission, the domains of reserch and thereof topics are specified hereunder:The full length original research manuscript, not exceeding 8 pages, should be in double column formt as per the IEEE specifications. The manuscript should contribute original claims and thereof evidence for supporting the claims. The manuscript should not been communicated/accepted/pub-lished either in any of the journals/magazines or conference proceedings. Further, the manuscript should contain the name (s) of the author(s) with Email Id(s) and affiliation(s). The softcopy of the full length manuscripts (*.doc or *.pdf) shall be submitted through https://easychair.org/conferences/?-conf=icstm2017in the format prescribed by IEEE.

The papers submitted would be peer reviewed and such of those papers recommended by the re-viewers are scheduled for presentation. However, it is mandatory that at least one of the authors would register for presenting the paper.
