When I passed std. X, I found that some students

had already started their IIT-JEE preparation and had

also qualified for exams like NTSE, Olympiads, etc.

Despite having no such past laurels to my credit except

Ganit Pravinya, I still wanted to aim for a selection at

IIT-JEE.

Need for Junior College Program

In the present day scenario, to secure admission to the IITs / NITs / local Engineering colleges, students need

to excel at Engineering Entrance Exams like JEE Advanced, JEE Main and MHT-CET and at the same time

students can not ignore Std. XII, as it is the base for all Engineering Entrance Exams.

Thus students have to prepare well for Std. XI, XII and Engineering Entrance Exams. Preparing for different

exams puts tremendous pressure on students. Students get torn between their College schedule and their

coaching classes, and they are left with hardly any time for self study.

Therefore a consolidated approach where Engineering Entrance and Std. XI, XII teaching is synchronised is

the need of the hour.

The training for Std. XI, XII and Engineering Entrance Exams is synchronised in our Junior College Program. As a result, students can focus on getting their fundamentals and concepts cleared right from the beginning, rather than rushing through topics without really understanding them.

Junior College Program Highlights

B) Regular Classroom Program

We have been conducting our regular classroom program for IIT JEE, since 1960 .

Students need to select a college of their choice and attend classes with us for IIT JEE (Main+Advanced), MHT-CET and Std.XI+XII (PCM).

Here are few points that parents and students should keep in mind while selecting their Junior College –

— Select a college which is close to your area of residence to minimize on the students' travel time

— Opt for a bi-focal subject along with PCM and English. This will reduce the students' burden of studying for Biology and the 2nd language.

We start the course from the very basics and then gradually move on to the advanced level.

This program also trains the students for other competitive exams like the BITSAT, Olympiads and the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) exam.

Our Structured Teaching-Learning Technique

Our course will prepare students for all the following exams :

JEE (Main + Advanced)

Preparing for the JEE (Main+Advanced) requires an altogether different orientation and approach towards studies. Over the years the pattern of the JEE has changed, but its basic objective of testing the bare bone fundamentals of the students, remains unchanged over time.

Keeping the above pattern in mind, our Program has been designed in such a manner, that it will focus on :

— Building Core Concepts & Fundamentals

— Sharpening critical thinking, logical reasoning and comprehension skills

— Building an inter-disciplinary approach

— Speed building techniques

The design and conduct is such that the students acquire a grip and feel of the JEE.

Std. XI, XII & MHT- CET ExamThe syllabus of JEE comprises of the syllabus of Std. XI, Std. XII and a few topics of higher level. Thus a student preparing for JEE, automatically gets prepared for Std. XII Board exam. However, the testing patterns of JEE and Std. XII differ. The JEE will check the conceptual understanding and the aptitude of the student. On the other hand, the Std. XII exam is a subjective exam which lays emphasis not only on the subject understanding but also on paper writing and presentation skills. Students will be first trained for Std. XI and Std. XII exam, followed by training for MHT-CET.

Students will be put through rigorous paper solving sessions which will help them to-

Students will also be given exhaustive study material and Test Series for Std. XII & MHT-CET [Physics, Chemistry and Maths] .

BITSATStudents will be provided 10 online Mock Test Papers with performance evaluation for BITSAT.

Other Competitive ExamsDuring the course of our Program, we encourage our students to appear for other competitive exams like the KVPY and Olympiad Exams (Maths, Physics and Chemistry conducted by the HBCSE). Appearing for such exams enhances the students' JEE (Main+Advanced) preparation.

A) Students’ Testing

During the course, we will be conducting several tests

1. Weekly Tests - Every Sunday based on the portion covered in the previous week.

2. Topic wise Tests - Last Sunday of every month based on topics covered in that month, exactly on the

lines of final JEE Main and JEE Advanced Exams, based on syllabus covered till that time.

3. Full Length Tests - These are full syllabus tests, conducted after the portion completion.

A) Parent Enrichment Program

Preparing for JEE (Main+Advanced) is no doubt a daunting task for students. This is also the time when students are on the threshold of blossoming into young adults, who have their own thoughts and ideas.

A. Please appear for Vidyalankar Scholarship cum Aptitude Test (VSAT). Based on the score obtained, our

Q. What happens if after some time, the student feels that he cannot cope up with the JEE?

case he/she is not able to cope up with JEE Advanced studies.

FAQs

Admission process for the IITsThe IIT JEE consists of 2 Tests viz. JEE Main Test and Advanced Test which test problem solving ability in basic science subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. IIT JEE Main Test is for 3 Hrs. while IIT JEE Advanced has two tests of 3 Hrs. each.

Only the top 2,00,000 (approx.) candidates (including all categories) based on the performance in JEE Main will qualify to appear in the JEE Advanced examination, provided the candidates are among the top 20% high scorers of their respective boards or have atleast scored 75% in Std. XII board examination.

As the above selection pattern gives a substantial importance to the Std. XII Board marks, it is very essential that every student prepares well not only for the IIT JEE, but for Std. XII also.

Admission process of NITs, IIITs and BIT (Ranchi) NITs, IIITs and BIT (Ranchi) give admissions on the basis of a student's performance in the JEE Main. Admissions to these Institutes will be purely on the basis of JEE Main Ranks. All India rank for NITs, IIITs and BIT (Ranchi) will be given separately.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) from 2019 onwards. The National level exam will be conducted twice a year (January and April) in ONLINE (computer based) mode. Candidates can appear in either of the two or both. JEE Main is conducted for Engineering (Paper 1 – B.E./ B.Tech.) and Architecture (Paper 2 – B.Arch./ B.Planning) streams.

Engineering aspirants will appear for only paper 1 which comprises of 20 MCQ type of questions & 5 questions with answers as numerical value in Physics, Chemistry and Maths each. The duration of the exam will be 180 Minutes. JEE Main will be 300 Marks exam wherein each question carries 4 marks and for every incorrect attempt in MCQ section 1 mark will be deducted.

Admission process for the BITSATThe Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, is a deemed University which offers Degree Engineering Courses at its Pilani campus, Goa campus, Hyderabad campus & (Except Dubai campus). The admission in these institutes to its Degree Engineering Programs is through BITSAT. The aspiring candidate must have passed the final examination of 10 + 2 system or its equivalent, with a paper each in Physics, Chemistry and Maths, with adequate proficiency in English. Further, the candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Std.XII exam, with at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics each. Direct admission is given to the students who are Std. XII Board toppers.

BITSAT is a 450 marks exam and has negative marking scheme. The test is of 3 hrs. duration and it consists of 150 questions. 3 marks are awarded for each correct answer and 1 mark deducted for each incorrect answer. The test consist of 40 questions from Physics and Chemistry each, 45 questions of Mathematics, 15 questions of English proficiency and 10 questions on Logical Reasoning.

Admission process for Government and Private Engineering Colleges in MaharashtraGovernment and Private Colleges of Maharashtra admissions are on the basis of a student's performance in the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test i.e. MHT CET 2019 exam was conducted as a Computer Based Test (Online). The exam comprises of 2 papers – Paper I (Mathematics) and Paper II (Physics and Chemistry). Each paper would be of 1 hour and 30 minutes duration. And, carry 100 marks each i.e., 2 marks will be awarded for each correct answer in Paper I while 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer in Paper II. There is no negative marking.

Approximately, 20% weightage will be given to 11th standard syllabus and 80% to 12th standard syllabus while setting the question paper.No negative marking for wrong answers. Difficulty level of MHT-CET will be at par with JEE Main examination.

The candidate should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Vocational subject in Std.XII exam.

This admission procedures was followed for admissions for academic year 2019-20.
