Principal DesignateThe appointment process for the Principal Designate for the New College Lanarkshire will commence shortly. Once in place, the Principal Designate will give consideration to a new college structure.
Hugh Logan, Principal of Motherwell College has been appointed Principal Designate of the new Fife College. Both Colleges wish Hugh every success in his new appointment.

College ConversationsAdditional staff consultation will take place in the form of ‘College Conversations’ where staff from both colleges will have the opportunity to chat to Principals and Senior Management and discuss the merger in more detail.

go ahead given to mergerOn Thursday 21 March the findings of the due diligence exercise were presented to both colleges’ Boards of Management.
Following the presentation both Boards are pleased to announce that the merger will now formally progress towards a vesting date of early November.
Workstreams Each issue of this newsletter will feature information on the workstreams and their progress to date.
There are nine work streams in total, covering all aspects of the merger process.

Merger ProjectCo-ordinator Julia Chim is the newly appointed Merger Co-ordinator. She will be working from the Cumbernauld and Motherwell campuses 3 days per week.
Julia’s role is to implement a PRINCE2 process based approach to capture information and report on progress against each workstream to the Merger Management Group and Merger Committee.
Julia has been a management consultant with Frontline Consultants for 11 years. She is PRINCE2 (Project Management) and MSP (Programme Management) accredited and has delivered previous project and

Use it to ask questions, voice any concerns or simply make a suggestion. Give us your thoughts on the merger and we’ll respond to them in future issues of The View. Further details to follow.
