PATRIOT PACKAGESThe next packing for our deployed soldiers will be Friday, May 12, from 9 a.m.-noon at the Warrenton Armory. The small amount of effort we put forward is so warmly appreciated by our young men and women protecting our freedom. Come and help put smiles on their faces as they realize we haven’t forgotten them. Our needs are “hotel” shampoos, single-serve drink mix and travel-size Kleenex and toothpaste. Donations can be left in the barrel at the Property Owner Information Office at Charrette Creek Commons or call Bob Braendle at 636.745.9492 for pick up.

GARDEN CLUB PLANT PROFILE — WINDFLOWEREach week until the Village of Innsbrook Garden Club's Plant Sale on May 13, we will feature one of the plants that will be available. Anemone, also known as windflower, is best grown in organically rich, humusy, evenly moist, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Soils must not be allowed to dry out. This excellent fall bloomer can really make a statement in your late-summer garden. It is most effective when massed and allowed to naturalize. Try it with wildflowers, and even astilbes. You will be happy to have this spring-looking plant that puts on a show in the fall!

GREEN HATS LUNCHEONLadies, join us at Donatelli's in Lake St. Louis at 8653 Hwy. N on Tuesday, May 16 at 11:30 a.m. Please RSVP by Saturday, May 13 to Mary Samson at 303.241.9952 or [email protected]. Hope to see you there!

WEEKLY BLUEBIRD REPORTOur bluebirds have had a hard week — over 30 of their chicks died because of wet nests. We still have 65 nests containing 59 eggs and 160 chicks. Fifty-two chicks fledged. If you have bluebird questions contact Shirley at [email protected].

WANT YOUR PONTOON BOAT MOVED FOR MEMORIAL WEEKEND? If you want your pontoon boat moved to the water by Memorial Day weekend, you must let us know at ext. 9163 or [email protected] by Monday, May 15. If we do not hear from you by then, your boat cannot be moved until sometime after Memorial Day weekend.

CORRECTION: INNSIGHT COVER PHOTO The beautiful photo on the cover of this year's Innsight newsletter was taken by Dennis Fiehler and titled "Alpine Winter Sunrise", which was mistakenly credited to the wrong person in the photo credit on the inside of the newsletter. Our sincerest apologies, Dennis! Thank you for sharing your beautiful photo with us for all to enjoy. Ext. 9180.

THAT PIECE OF TRASH COULD BE WORTH $100!Even in a beautiful, nature-loving community like ours, certain items like soda and beer cans and empty plastic bottles seem to magically appear along the road. If you are going out for walk or hike, would you consider taking a small plastic bag along to help us pick this stuff up? Just to make it interesting, Ed Boyce is bringing back the “Beer Can Contest” hunt with prizes of $5, $10, $20 and $100 cash! If you find Ed's business card on any can, take that item to the Property Owner Information Office at Charrette Creek Commons to collect your cash reward. There is only one rule to the contest: Any items you pick up go into the trash or recycling—you can’t throw them down again. Ext. 9180.

SKIP THE REGISTRATION LINE AT THE ANNIVERSARY PARTY!Property owners can skip the lines at the Anniversary Party by picking up their name tags ahead of time. Stop by the meeting room at Charrette Creek Commons during the following times: Thursday, May 25, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. or Friday, May 26, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. to pick up your name tag. On the day of the party (Saturday, May 27), wear your tag and stop by the "preregistered" tent at the party to collect your commemorative cups! Ext. 9180.

DONATE YOUR UNWANTED BOAT FOR THE AUCTIONDonate your pontoon boat, kayak, canoe, paddleboat or other vessel to our annual Memorial Day Boat Auction (to be held on Monday, May 29 at 10 a.m.). You can give the funds raised by your boat's sale to the Innsbrook Fireworks Fund or Innsbrook Institute. You can also enter your boat on consignment. Call ext. 9180 to donate or for more information.
