SPEAKER
Tom Colbert introduced our
speaker, John Lambert, who spoke
to us on the topic of BEING
PREPARED (for what’s to come).
Born and raised in Berkeley, John
began his story with a sad situation
for which he could not be prepared,
the death of his father from a brain
tumor when John was 12-1/2 years
old. Then, during the following year
he grew from 5’4” to 6’4” (He
ultimately reached the height of
6’11”). He began his successful basketball career one year behind Bill Walton at Berkeley High
and played against Bill in college with Bill playing for UCLA and John for USC.
Following his college career he played in the NBA League from 1975-1982 with the Cleveland
Cavaliers, Kansas City Kings and San Antonio Spurs. He averaged 3.8 points and 3.3 rebounds
per game. After the NBA he worked as a Color Analyst (Sports Commentator) for ESPN and
other networks. Later he began a career in Investment Management that he continues today.
In his Rookie Year with the Cavs, the team made their
first-ever playoff appearance and clinched their first
Central Division Title. Throughout his presentation he
shared many interesting experiences from his basketball
career.

Prez John thanked visitors and guests for coming and rang the bell.
