IM VERY THANKFUL FOR EVERY BUSINESS WHO SUPPORTS, BELIEVES IN AND MAKES UP OUR FANTASTIC COMMUNITY OF ARTISTS!
OUR TEAM OF EDITORS IS MADE UP OF APRIL OF APRIL FLOWERS, JESSICA OF PAPERSKY, AND WHITNEY OF ROSEY CALLIGRAPHY. THESE LADIES HAVE SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS PULLING THIS BEAUTIFUL EZINE TOGETHER AND FOR THAT DESERVE A LOT OF LOVE! THEY CREATE AND EXUDE BEAUTY. IM THANKFUL TO HAVE THEM SHARE THEIR BEAUTIFUL PERSPECTIVES AND GREAT WORK WITH THE WEDDING STANDARD.
TO ALL THE COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDINGS ON THE CENTRAL COAST THIS IS OUR GIFT TO YOU. I AM EXTREMELY PROUD OF OUR 2ND PUBLICATION! WE EXPECT YOU WILL FIND INSPIRATION FOR YOUR WEDDING BUT OUR BIG HOPE IS THAT YOU WILL FIND THE VENUES AND ARTISTS WHO FIT YOUR STYLE AND PERSONALITY. LASTLY, I WANT TO GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO MY BUSINESS PARTNER, JOSHUA JONES FROM GOODBEAT PRODUCTIONS, WHO WITHOUT HIS EFFORTS BEHIND THE SCENES THE WED-DING STANDARD WOULD STILL BE JUST A BLOG SHOWCASING JUST A HANDFUL OF ARTISTS AND REACHING JUST A HANDFUL OF BRIDES. JOSH HAS HELPED ME REALIZE HOW BIG THIS COMMUNITY CAN BE SIMPLY BY INVITING OTHERS TO THE PARTY.
ENJOY... AND MUCH LOVE!

inspired shoot by SARAH KATHLEENIn today's world, dreams are few and far between. But not in a world like Oz,where "the dreams you dare to dream really do come true". And so, a band of dreamers got together and brought Oz to life. We were inspired by the whimsy of things like a yellow (or gold, in our case) brick road, bubbles, rainbows, emerald cities, and hot air balloons. But we also wanted to draw inspiration from the darker side of wicked witches, tornadoes, storm cellars, and poisonous poppy fields. All these little pieces came together to form something magical. We wanted our "bride" to resemble the youth and innocence of Dorothy, so Mary Maclane (and her boyfriend, Peter Gerhardt - the pair of which make up the musical duo "Goodnight Moon") was a perfect choice.

10 WAYS TO GET THE WORD OUTThe most important part of the process is getting the word out. The more people who know, the more pictures you'll get. With a little planning, you can get dozens or even hundreds of fun images and videos.
1. ADD IT TO YOUR INVITATIONSIf there's room, you can add a short line to your wedding invitations (or an insert) about your hashtag.
2. TELL YOUR WEDDING PARTYYour wedding party will have unique access and views into your special day. Tell them personally and ask for plenty of pre-ceremony images and videos. This is also a great way to get some images at the rehersal dinner.
3. NOTIFY YOUR VENUE'S EVENT COORDINATORThe coordinator will help with handouts and signs. Plus, they'll be excited to see images of their place online.
4. POST ON FACEBOOK & TWITTERA quick post the day before or the morning of your big day is a great way to remind friends on Facebook and Twitter.
5. ADD IT TO YOUR PROGRAMAs guests arrive and take their seats, the program is a great way to get them started taking pictures during the ceremony.
6. NOTIFY YOUR WEDDING PLANNER OR DESIGNERBe sure to notify your planner (if you have one) and the people designing your reception tables. They'll help get the word out at the reception.
7. RECEPTION CARDSOne of the best ways to get participation is small notification cards at each reception place setting. Be creative here.
8. RECEPTION SIGNA sign is another great option for your reception. A large sign near the entry or gift table is ideal. Smaller signs at each table are another option. Chalkboards are great for this and you can find great vintage ones on Etsy.
9. NOTIFY YOUR DJLet your DJ know ahead of time and he/she can make an announcement during the reception.
10. HAVE AN "I SPY" SCAVENGER HUNTOn your cards or signs, give people specific moments to capture ("someone crying" or "crazy dancing"). Be creative and have fun hereyou're sure to get some timeless moments.

GETTING YOUR PHOTOS WHEN IT'S ALL OVER
When it's all over, you're going to want to view-maybe even printyour images as soon as pos-sible. The great thing is, you've got plenty of options.
For the impatient folks, you can always use the Instagram app to quickly browse your hashtagged images and videos on your phone.
For viewing your images on a big screen, you can also easily download the image files or save them to Facebook and Dropbox. Statigr.am and Gramfeed are also great ways to quickly view your hashtag in a browser.
Once you've got the images, you might want to order prints, create a book, or print some art for your home. Fortunately, you've got tons of options.
Here's 5 of our favorites:
1. Square prints from Printstagram
2. Cute, affordable books from Blurb
3. Gorgeous wood prints from WoodSnap
4. Create a ready-to-hang Canvas from CanvasPop
5. Create a wall cling with a collage of 16 images at Cheergram

CHOOSING A HASHTAG
Hashtags are supported by many social networks, including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. In short, a hashtag allows you to assign a topic to your image or post.
For a wedding, your hashtag should be uniquejust using #mywedding isn't going to cut itas well as memorable. You don't want a hashtag that's too long or hard to read when printed.
If both your first names are short enough, combining them with the year is a good option (something like #markalice2013). Another great option is your new surname with the word "wedding" and/or the year (both #cookwedding and #turnerwedding2013 work).

WHAT IS YOUR VENUE'S HISTORY?
The ranch has a rich history dating back to the 1800s
as a dairy farm. However, it is best known for its rise to
international acclaim under the ownership of Jay and
Dorothy Stream, who occupied the ranch from the
1950s until 2012. The Streams, often in partnership
with Jays client, the legendary Wayne Newton, bred
world class Arabian horses. The Streams quickly made
this majestic piece of land a highly acclaimed horse
facility; creating an event venue like no other for our
community.
In recent years, the property and its facilities had fallen
on hard times and were in need of substantial renova-
tion. In July of 2012, two local families acquired the
property and immediately went to work restoring the
grounds and structures. Their plans were to honor the
property's past by returning it to its previous grandeur,
while creating a destination venue that is representative
of its rich and beautiful history.
Greengate Ranch & Vineyard owners, along with their
staff, are proud to provide to our community a newly
restored horse training & boarding facility, a relaxing
place to stay and a unique location to create lasting
memories.
DESCRIBE YOUR ATMOSPHERE AND FEEL...
At Greengate Ranch and Vineyard you will experience
an upscale California Ranch that is unique and pictur-
esque.
We have thoughtfully restored the Ranch with the
upmost care to enhance the natural landscape of Edna
Valley, to preserve the history of the property and to
provide our guests with a lasting experience. We have
approximately 90 acres of rolling vineyard, horses
roaming in the pasture, a majestic pond with a tree
canopied peninsula, a beautifully restored rustic barn
(both are ideal for wedding ceremonies) and 2 restored
ranch style homes available for vacation rental when
booking our venue.

IN DEFENSE OF PAPER
Have you ever been excited to get an invitation in the mail and thought, this is delightfully surprising? On the other hand, have you ever received an invitation online and thought to yourself, this seems kind of impersonal and inadequate? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then feel free to stop read-ing because you get it you understand the impor-tance of a heartfelt and personal invitation, and you see the value in the emotions evoked by that invita-tion. But, in the off chance you answered no, please allow me to share a better way before you wander into a world of impersonal digital correspondence.
There was a time in the past when people would docu-ment important life events by painting on cave walls, carving into wood or stone, or transcribing them on stretched animal vellum. Weve always had a love affair with the ability to keep records and something came along that changed our love forever: the inven-tion of paper. Initially, paper was not an easy item to manufacture; it was mainly a luxury item circulated for the enjoyment of the educated elite. It was here, amongst the literate aristocracy, that the paper wed-ding invitation came to be. Well before Queen Victo-ria sparked the trend of white wedding dresses and even earlier than DeBeers began marketing diamond engagement rings, the wealthy population decided to ditch the call of the town crier in favor of the more discreet yet extravagant paper wedding invitation. Thankfully, both the production of paper and the wed-ding stationery tradition have been around long enough to evolve; now the once-exclusive commodity is easily available to all of us.
Customized stationery begins to set the tone of a wedding well before the event itself. It usually starts with a Save the Date, which early on allows recipients to feel personally part of the event without yet being formally invited. After that, a few months before the big day, the wedding invitations arrive. Opening the invitation is memorable experience for guests, to say the least, akin to striking the crowning blow on a piata.
They are invited to the event, they are informed about the event and most of all, they are included in the event. The only way to top a beautiful invitation is to hire a courier to go to each guests house and read an invitation decree straight off an medieval scroll. But custom stationery doesnt stop there it plays a crucial role on the wedding day as well. Coordinating signage directs guests; a program lays out the order of events; place cards and table numbers guide and create order; the menu describes what will be served; and guest books provide a place for emotions to be shared. There are so many details that are part of a thought-out stationery suite that, without all of these things, a wedding has the possibility of feeling haphazard or half-done.
Beyond warm, fuzzy feelings and logical structure for the event, paper goods also add character. Design, color scheme, theme, and mood can all be conveyed and curated within a well-designed stationery suite. An outdoor wedding on a summer day may use letter-press flowers and flourishes in warm colors to excite the guests, whereas a night-time winter wedding may use red-wine-dipped designs to fully engage the senses and foreshadow an evening of libation-fueled festivities. The options in paper are limitless, allowing each couple to send a piece of themselves to their guests.
Custom stationery is the inspired accumulation of personal affection, design exhibition, and event orga-nization. Its a keepsake for loved ones to cherish! Even in todays increasingly digital culture, the screen is no place to receive a wedding invitation they might be easy to use and cost-effective, but online invites fall flat when compared to something tangible. There is no amount of html code, clipart or message flagging that can make a digital invitation have the same impact or be as memorable as a paper one. Paper is where its at, and ultimately, getting a beautiful piece of mail has the same strange satisfaction as napping in a ray of sunshine.

ALL ECSTATIC TO BE BY THEIR FRIENDS SIDE ON HER BIG DAY; THEY ATE, DRANK, AND WERE MERRY.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN DOING WHAT YOU DO?
N: I was obsessed with weddings and the idea of marriage
so when my sister-in-law got married in 2007 I took it upon
myself to plan her entire wedding. It basically took off from
there and after doing my own wedding the next year I knew
it was something I wanted to do for a living. In the last few
years I got my sister Stephanie on board doing events for
friends and family, and in late 2012, together we created
our business Lovelyfest.
WHAT MAKES YOUR BUSINESS UNIQUE?
We take on every project as a fresh new slate, we don't use
past ideas, but create a new approach based on every
client. We're sisters and we enjoy collaborating together to
make everything flow. We love taking a couple's unique
qualities and bringing it into the design.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL COUPLE?
First, one that's madly in love, second, one that has a vision
for their wedding and who give us free reign to make it
amazing!
WHAT'S YOUR PERSONAL BUSINESS PHILOSOPHY?
To use honesty and integrity, and to stay passionate about
creating amazing weddings for our clients.
FAVORITE PART OF A WEDDING?
The look on the groom's face when he sees his bride for the
very first time.
WHY DO YOU... DO WHAT YOU DO?
We're in love with weddings and love being able to be
creative in our jobs!
WHAT QUESTION DO YOU ALWAYS ASK THE BRIDE & GROOM?
What unique ways do they want to remember their wedding.

Choosing the right flowers for your wedding day is an important task. For some brides the flowers they choose represent their culture, a childhood memory, is significant in their relationship, or it's just really pretty. Whatever the reason, your floral decisions do not need to stop with the traditional. There are so many options out there for brides to make their wedding special, and personal. A favor-ite of ours is to wear your flowers in your hair.
There are stunning floral style choices for all styles of hair. Whether you want a wildly curly down-do, or a perfectly coifed up-do, flowers are the perfect compliment. Are you planning on wearing an heir-loom dress perhaps? Calibrating with both your hair stylist and your florist to come up with a look that will compliment the dress can be a ton of fun. Not to mention a great way for you to be involved, while still leaving the professionals to do what they do best.
