School Notes

During this month, Peace Lutheran School has a BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION friendly classroom competition. The classroom that brings in the most Box Tops for Education labels will be acknowledged at chapel and receive a special classroom outdoor activity/celebration. We can raise significant dollars for school ministry just by clipping coupons from the products we are already buying. Deadline for the competition is Wednesday, April 30. Please drop off your Box Tops in the school office or in the

donation center in the church basement. If you would like a specific classroom to get credit, write the teacher’s name on the bag/envelope. Also, by registering your Kroger card and designating Peace Lutheran School you can earn electronic Box Tops year round. Meijer also offers several bonus Box Tops opportunities throughout the year. This is FREE money and a way that everyone can support Christian education at Peace. Thank You! 2014-2015 Peace School Year - There are openings at Peace Lutheran School for 3 year old Preschool (Sept.-May) with Mrs. Williams, 4 year old Prekindergarten (Sept.-May) with Mrs. Kelly, & 3 & 4 year old Extended Care (year-round) with Mrs. Zolton. Valley Lutheran - The Annual Meeting of the Valley Lutheran High School Association will

be held on Wednesday, May 21, beginning

Any amount will be much appreciated. If you're interested in more information, our chair person is Carol Chisholm at 860.3510. Sunday Adult Bible Study at 11am in Church Parlor Continues ...

Topic: “Stuff They Didn’t Teach Me in Sunday School about Matthew and Mark”

The 400 year period of transition between the Old and New Testaments witnessed significant changes in Israel’s history and

cultural development. During this time, superpowers like the Persians, Greeks and Romans were the dominant geopolitical

players in the regions of the Mediterranean and the Near East. In Palestine, groups like the Pharisees, Sadducees, Zealots, Essenes, and others filled the stage, vying for local power and prestige. Into this milieu comes Jesus, the Word Incarnate, who --- along with His disciples --- would change the world forever. Join Bruce Wurdeman from the Lutheran Hour ministries as he bridges the gap between the Old and New Testaments and launches into the Gospels, beginning

with the books of Matthew and Mark.
