THE WESLEY WORD

Servant Leaders of Christ, making disciples across our
community, nation and the world.
April 2018 Special Edition
Today, April 1, 2018 we celebrate the Resurrection of
our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As we conclude in
our Lenten Season, we also embrace the season of total
victory. From the moment Jesus rose from the dead,
He rose with all power in His hands and salvation was
given to all who believe in their heart and confess with
their mouths. (Romans 10:9-10)
How shall we Rejoice? How shall we give thanks unto
to the Only one who could deliver all mankind from
their sins? John Wesley, it is my prayer that we
continue in the rejoicing season beyond Resurrection
Sunday. Rather, we spend our lives rejoicing in our
Savior’s love for us by living a life following after Jesus’
teachings. To Love our God with all our heart and to
Love our neighbor as we Love ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39)
For truly we can shout and sing, He is Risen! Our
Savior today has Risen! Let us too rise with Him in
humility and kindness, love and charity, appreciation
and adoration.
Thank you Jesus for dying for us!
Rev. Dr. Christopher L. Zacharias

Resurrection Sunday
“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?
The sting of death is sin, and the power
of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God!
He gives us the victory through our
Lord Jesus Christ.”

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex developmental dis-ability; signs typically appear during early childhood and affect a person’s ability to communicate, and interact with others. ASD is defined by a certain set of behaviors and is a “spectrum condi-tion” that affects individuals differently and to varying degrees.
There is no known single cause of autism, but increased aware-ness and early diagnosis/intervention and access to appropriate services/supports lead to significantly improved outcomes. Some of the behaviors associated with autism include delayed learning of language; difficulty making eye contact or holding a conversa-tion; difficulty with executive functioning, which relates to rea-soning and planning; narrow, in-tense interests; poor motor skills’ and sensory sensitivities.
Again, a person on the spectrum might follow many of these behav-iors or just a few, or many others besides. The diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder is applied based on analysis of all behaviors and their severity .

John Wesley A.M.E. Zion - “A Church for ALL People” jwamezchurch.org
John Wesley Logo established in 2018. A diamond compromised of
beautiful colors of significance. Emulating the colors of the official Logo
of A.M.E. Zion Church, John Wesley’s logo is a diamond engulfed with
Purple, Blue, Red, Black and Green with the letters JW for John Wesley in the center.
The Diamond shape represents Purity.
Purple - for Godly judgment, the union of love and pain in humility.
Blue – for heaven and sincerity.
Red – for power, love, glory and honor as associated with our Lord’s
passion, suffering and Christian zeal
Black -within recent years the interpretation of black has changed to en-
compass a texture of the whole life – all colors blended, melted together –
joy, sadness, struggle, faith, hope and finally life eternal.
Green – The color of renewal, growth and harmony
