- the warmest region of Poland- has a population of 100 000 thousand- major historic monuments:

- Castle of Legnica Piasts - 13th century,- Peter and Paul Cathedral - 12th century, - Mary’s Church-14th century, - a complex of eight Renaissance three-storey

houses called „Herring Stalls” (Śledziówki)first mentioned in 1574,

- Quail’s Basket house – 14th centuary,- The Town Park – 19th centuary, - The Knight Academy -18th centuary

- on 16th June 1998 the University was started- 4000 students- 16 thousand graduates- 3 faculties, 13 fields, specializations- Master’s, Bachelor’s or Engineering Diplomas,

Post-graduate studies- 3 buildings – total 21 000 square metres- total area: 5,2 ha
