Immanuel Lutheran School—Weekly Newsletter—February 6, 2015—Page 1 The Wolf’s howl February 6, 2015 “GOD KNOWS YOUR NAME”, John 10:3 FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S PEN… Are you tired of the gloom yet! Growing up in Michigan, I got used to the idea that the month of February was always very gloomy and dreary. Because of the surrounding water and the cold air, it was usually cloudy 25 days during the month. It was so bad that the Detroit newspapers use to have a contest to see who could get closest to the total number of hours of sunshine the State would have. The gloom of February seemed to permeate everything. Sometimes our daily lives seem to be filled with figurative gloom. We look around, especially during this time of year, and all we see is unhappiness, strife, fatigue, and even despair. The darkness of the days and the length of the nights only seem to add to this feeling. There is hope! Jesus Christ is the light for the gloom of our mood. A simple Easter hymn rings out the fantastic message: Morning breaks upon the tomb; Jesus scatters all it’s gloom Day of triumph thro’ the skies See the glorious Savior rise. Jesus Christ shatters the gloom and sorrow of this life and brings joy and purpose into a new life for us. The Psalmist writes, “Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us and we are His, we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.” When we keep in mind that our purpose here is to serve the One who loved us and gave His Son to die for us, we can live in the joy He has provided and share that joy with all those around us. May God give you the grace, wisdom, and peace to share that joy with those around you during this coming week. “GOD KNOWS YOUR NAME”, John 10:3

FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S PEN…

Are you tired of the gloom yet! A simple Easter hymn rings out the fantastic message:

Morning breaks upon the tomb; Jesus scatters all it’s gloom

Day of triumph thro’ the skies See the glorious Savior rise.

Jesus Christ shatters the gloom and

sorrow of this life and brings joy and purpose into a new life for us.
