Tax Deductibility: Due to the U.S. Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1992, effective January 1, 1994, dues to The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce are not deductible as a charitable contribution for income tax purposes, but may be duductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. A portion of dues, however, is not deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense to the extent that The Chamber engages in state or federal lobbying. The non-deductible portion of the dues is 5%. Effective 9/1/2004
