T h e e v e n i n g u n d o u b t e d l y deepened the w a r m feel ings of pe rsona l r e ga rd w h i c h h a v e a l w a y s ex i s t ed between the " O l d S t o c k t o n i a n s " a n d the i r P r e s iden t . T h e C o m m i t t e e feel that they a r e by no m e a n s " done w i t h " M r . P r e s t . A t a r ecent C o m m i t t e e mee t ing s e v e r a l m e m b e r s endeavoured to get h i m to s ta te the m a i n reason for h i s d e c i s i on , b u t i n v a i n . S w i n b u r n e , a 1'ast P res ident of the Assoc i a t i on I s O M to w h o m the " O l d S t o c k t o n i a n s " w i l l a l w a y s feel g rea t l y indebted tor v a l u a b l e a n d ab le work w i l l i n g l y done. W e a r e indeed s o r r y tha t a v a r i e t y o f r easons h a s i n d u c e d h i m to g i ve up h i s work as a m e m b e r o f the C o m m i t t e e , a n d we hope most s ince r e l y that he does not feel that the reby h e h a s severed h i s connec t i on w i t h the A s s o c i a t i o n .
