Why Theater?

Movement from the Theater point of view
• Movement is growth
=> Theatre is based on movement: from physical, emotional and mental perspectives
• Theatre supports sport exercises
=>… so well because it stimulates imagination
=> …by doing so it breaks the mental barriers that (obese) children might have about sport and excercise

The innovation of the Oblomov -project is NOT combining Theatre and Sport BUT offering the
opportunity to EMBODY in one activity
two prospectives of life:
Discipline and Freedom, Precision and Creativity
=> HIIT and Theatre.

Pedagogical objectives in Oblomov -method
• Support pupils’ autonomy
• Increase self-awareness and self -confident
• Strengthen social cohesion among group
• Support pupils’ creativity and involvement
• Increase awareness of positive health indicators (or aspects?)
• Wake up to carry on own responsibility for health enhancingbehaviour

Theatre -tools from student’s percpective
• Possibilities to choose
• Learn to regognize own limits (emotionally, socially, psychologically, physiologically and in motor capasity)
• Creating the story together
• Everyone has important role in creating the story and carrying thetheme forward
• Individual, unique experience; empathise / put one’s soul into thestory
• Everyone has their own role, (choosing architypes)

Oblomov – method from theatrical point of view…
Canovaccio
– theatrical story, which will be build on several episodes
- each episode carry the story from the beginning to it’s end
- The frame can be such as Harry Potter, Peter Pan, national epics etc.

Tools and teaching methods are:
• Open scenario• Text is open for purpose –> story is possible to be modified based on ideas from the group• Gathers together different aspects (such as physical activity, nutrition, health, self-image etc.)• Activates individual processes: helps to regognize and become aware of own personality and
funtional capasity -> increase one’s ability to be active and carry own responsibility of his/herwellbeing
• Encourages express oneselves, emotions and thoughts through theather (or drama?)
• HIIT – sessions are tightly involved into the story
- exciting and engrossing

Canovaccio, including 10 episodes (45 -120 min.) with 6-8 x (2 min HIIT, followed by 2 min recovery) exercise periods
By using the Oblomov -method we can contribute to have a new generation of
healthy human beings with an open mind and a strong heart
