Call-out meeting is September 1 period 6 in LGI(Directors announced, auditions explained etc.)

Auditions Sep 2 & 3

Fall Play

• Must fill out a membership form• Expectation: pay dues ($5 Apprentices, $10

Thespians)• Sign up for audition time at signupgenius.com• Fill out and have parents sign audition form• Attend all rehearsals• Rehearsal calendar and script located on blog

& moodle

Fall Play Production Staff• Supports director and actors at rehearsals (one

production staff member must be present at every rehearsal)

• Costumes, props (including set furniture) and makeup.

• Responsible for moving props and set furniture on and off stage

• You must be at one or more of the work sessions to participate.– 8/26, 8/27 & 8/28

New Auditorium Manager• Mr. Brian Coon• New Auditorium Manager also Technical

Director– Oversees lights, sound, rigging, and large scenery

• He will be developing a plan for tech crew that works in his schedule, meets the needs of our shows, and meets the expectations of the administration– Students should expect things to be different

Fall Play Tech Crew• Tentative Plans:– Actors, production staff, and even parents will help

with any set building needed • Build/paint dates: 9/26, 10/10, 10/24

– Additional dates may be scheduled by TD as necessary

– There will be future plans to train students on lights/sound etc. but nothing set up yet

– You must be at one or more of the work sessions to participate: 8/26, 8/27 & 8/28

Haunted Trails

• Dates of Operation are 10/27 – 10/29.– Yes, that’s production week for the fall play– Yes, a student can do both

• Thespian troupe & Mrs. Adams will decide theme and participants on 8/25– Be sure to sign up today if interested on

signupgenius.com• You must be at one or more of the work

sessions to participate.– 8/26, 8/27 & 8/28

ComedySportz

• We will field a team of 8-12 actletes• Last year’s team members will get priority over

positions• Tryouts are Sep 1 from 3:30 – 5:00 PM in room

1316• Must be able to attend ALL workshops. If you

miss a workshop or a practice, you MUST sit out one match per workshop you miss. Three misses = removal from team.

ComedySportz

• Workshops are held at CSz on Mass Ave in Indy – you are responsible for own transportation– 9/26, 10/3, 10/24, 11/7, 12/5, 1/9.– One exhibition match as a team: 1/23, 1/30 or 2/6

• Team trainings at WHS on 11/2, 11/16• Home matches on 4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16• Away matches (4) TBD

Musical

• Guys and Dolls–Call-outs will be in late November or early

December–Auditions will be Jan 5-8–Performances will be March 17-19–More info at the call-out meeting

Frequently Asked Questions

• Can one person act and do tech for the same show? This year, for the fall play, yes, for the musical, no.

• I play a sport. Can I also do the shows? In your offseason, it might be possible, but not during your sport season.

• I have a job. Can I just come to rehearsals whenever I don’t work? Doing a chow is a commitment, juts like a job. Most employers will be flexible if you request off in advance. But generally, no you must be at all the rehearsals.

You can become a Thespian after earning 10 points in at least two plays and in two different areas, such as acting, tech, workshop participation etc.An Apprentice is a student of theatre working toward becoming a Thespian.
