Social Emotional: Create your own snake made out of an old sock and fill it up with rice. Draw a face on it to match your feelings! Talk to your child about the emotion they drew on their snake.

Letter Y; Learn about the letter Y

Gross Motor: Get your snake that you made and practice throwing and catching it back and forth to your child! Throw it high, low, sideways, etc.

Fine Motor: Draw a snake using paper and crayons. Practice cutting out the snake using scissors!

Speech/Language and academics:After reading the story, talk to your children about: What made it hard for snake to participate? How do we know that elephant and piggy wanted snake to join in with their activity? What games or activities do you like? How can you invite others to join in with your activity?
