Seven Scoops Custard Shop in Shrub Oak is open for business! Owned by Sean Davies and operated with his mom, Sue Davies, lifelong residents of Yorktown, Seven Scoops is a family business. Sean is the second oldest of Sue and Dwight Davies’s seven children, where the Seven Scoops name comes from. Sean has always dreamed of owning his own business, so when we noticed Abbott’s for sale we knew this could be a great venture for Sean and the family. Seven Scoops has continued with the frozen custard people have come to love in Yorktown. Our custard is made fresh daily and each day features seven custard flavors. Chocolate and vanilla are available every day, and some of our already popular flavors include cookies & cream, chocolate cookie crunch, and coffee. What makes frozen custard different from ice cream? Unlike ice cream, frozen custard uses egg yolks, making it softer than hard ice cream, but richer than soft-serve. We offer many varieties to enjoy our frozen custard – cones, cups, homemade waffle bowls, sundaes, milkshakes, floats, and avalanches! Other treats include frozen custard sandwiches, custard-filled cannoli, frozen pints, and chocolate-covered bananas. For our dairy free customers, we have seven varieties of Italian ices daily. The “seven” theme is also carried over outside with seven rocking chairs to enjoy your ice cream in, along with a full size and a kid sized picnic table. Additional seating is shared with our neighbor, Lakeland [email protected]

We are architects, engineers, carpenters, masons, police officers, firefighters, painters, electricians, plumbers and laborers. Each of us bring a certain skillset and unique talent to this company. This is what makes us the company to entrust for any project at your home or business. We stress trust in every aspect of our operations, from our team to our colleagues. From the bosses to the workers, we all wear the same boots. While being mindful of the value of the dollar, we created a company able to tailor to the construction needs of each individual client, regardless of project size or complexity. They say the most critical investment that you make in any point of life is a house. Well, for each one of our clients, that statement holds true. Your home is the place you spend time with your family, the place you should be proud of and the place that when properly maintained, will be enjoyed for generations. There are thousands of contractors out there to choose from and I guess the question always is, “why choose us?” It comes down to one thing; TRUST. We as a company are comprised of a backbone of men and women that work under one premonition – treat everyone as though they are family and treat each home as if it was our own. Most people promise to stand by their work, but our work stands by itself. Instead, we promise to stand by you, both as a customer and as a friend, in the same boots that left the original footprints in your project. [email protected]

The Yorktown Farmers Market was founded in 2012 from a suggestion at an exploratory meeting of Yorktown not-for-profit groups as a way to build community. This new, as yet unnamed group went on to become Yorktown Organizations United. With their encouragement, Ed and Karen Muendell created their own not-for-profit corporation, Maize Market Management, which runs the market. Each week a different local charitable organization is invited to participate at the market. The Charity Of the Week, COW for short, is given a free space to distribute information and raise funds. At the end of the 2012 market season that was held on the field behind Yorktown Engine Co. # 1, Maize had donated $10,750 to local not-for-profits. After recently being contacted by the Jefferson Valley Mall management office, who wanted to help revive this asset to the community, the market was reborn. Now operating on Saturdays in the mall parking lot, Maize (d/b/a Yorktown Farmers Market) is thrilled to have the opportunity once again to spotlight our local charitable groups while offering our community the chance to shop for the best in local seasonal items. Please visit our website for a list of our vendors, COWs, and events. Saturdays 9am-2pm through September 16, 2017.New vendors welcome!yorktownfarmersmarket.com

Starting out as a surveillance camera company, HTI Visions has evolved into a full-service security solutions provider. Whether fire alarms and monitoring, burglar alarms and access control systems, networking as well as network hardening, and now fully HD camera option, HTI Visions has the end-to-end experience necessary to support your business! All our offerings are tailor-fitted to your individual needs; over ten years of industry experience has taught us that no two clients are ever the same, and our usefulness is a direct function of how we craft each customized set-up. Likewise, every single job we do is backed by an iron-clad warranty, granting access to levels of dedicated service the clients of other companies can only enviously dream of. At HTI, the initial sale is only the start of our duty to our clients. The

roots of our business lie in landlords trying to come up with security solutions to grow their brand, and these beginnings influence every aspect of how we approach our clients’ needs.HTI prides itself especially on the work it does with local law enforcement – any part we can play in helping New York’s Finest effect justice swiftly and accurately is a humbling experience. Knowing we can help protect residents and business owners alike reinforces our commitment to every client we service: No job is too big or too small for the expertise and care we bring to a project. HTI’s vision began in the role of landlords looking to enact preventative monitoring measures within their own buildings; the benefits for workforce productivity management, remote monitoring of managed properties, in addition to the crime mitigating aspects of our systems comes from technological theory rooted in practical applications. We only started offering our services to the public after seeing how much easier it made our lives as landlords – and we look forward to being of service to the greater Yorktown community! 718-367-6953

Well summer is here and our Festival & Street Fair Committee is hard at work planning this unbelievable event. Mark your calendar for Sunday October 8, 2017 because you really can’t afford not to display your business at this event. Log on to www.yorktownchamber.org to see how you can promote your business by buying a flag, your name on the new LED sign or as a vendor. Our June 5 networking meeting the DML Mortgage Enterprises, Inc. and our June 6th breakfast networking meeting with guest speaker Eric Saidel of ENT and Allergy Associates, were both very well attended. It’s a great way to promote yourself and your business at these types of relaxed venues. Our next networking meeting will be on July 11th at Vape Escape, Inc. in Yorktown. On June 10th the Chamber sponsored a fundraiser baseball game between the Little Leaguers and the Yorktown Police Department with all proceeds sponsoring three or maybe four local families with children with life threatening diseases to Camp Sunshine for a week. Judges Sal Lagonia and Gary Raniolo served as umpires. You can’t get better than that!Next up is the YCC Scholarship Night Awards Dinner at Little Sorrento Restaurant on July 17, 2017. This event is sponsored by Doug Petrie, A. S. A. P. Mortgage Corp, Saidel and Saidel P.C and Little Sorrento Restaurant. This year the Chamber will award seven scholarships including the $2,500 Constance M. Petri Scholarship to deserving local high school students. These recipients are tomorrow’s Chamber members and investing in their future today will benefit all of us tomorrow. All who donate will be guests at this dinner. We had great attendance at our 6th Annual Auto Show, held on Saturday, June 17 at the Jefferson Valley Mall.

This year we paired with Yorktown’s Community Day. Once again the public had a chance to see the latest 2018 models featured by local dealerships.Member Appreciation Night is coming up. This year, at Frankie & Augie’Z on September 12, 2017, we will honor Anne Gotzen, Chamber Volunteer, Genesis Macedo, Genesis Pro Painting, Doug Petrie, A.S.A.P. Mortgage Corp., Maria Quesada, Six Diamonds Tree Service and Opie Rodriguez, NY Life Insurance for their contributions to our organization. Tickets are $40 per person. This is a wonderful night and opportunity to thank them. Please call the office at 914-245-4599 to make reservations.I want to give a special thank you to our membership for supporting the Chamber's activities. Without your support, none of these programs would be possible. As always my door is open to all members with any concerns or suggestions.Have a safe and happy Fourth of July!Eric DiBartolo President

Funding for these awards was made available by the generous donations of the family of Constance Petri, individual donations from twenty-six (26) of our members, and a grant from our Board of Directors. The awards will be presented at our annual dinner, which will be held this year on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Little Sorrento Restaurant. It is not too late to make a donation to help this worthy cause. Those who donate at least $50.00 will be invited, along with a companion, to be our guests at the awards dinner and have a chance to meet and congratulate these fine students.

We look forward to your participation.
