Part I: Basic concepts and Definitions
1. What are the basic assumptions for the derivation of slope deflection equation?
2. Define the following terms
a) kinematic indeterminacy
b) Fixed End Moments /FEM/
3. List the necessary steps for the analysis of indeterminate structures using slope deflection
method.

4. Discuss the degree of kinematic indeterminacy for the trusses as shown in fig 1 below.
