There are no more dragonflies A game for four players and one or two GMs. It's been years since you last saw him, years since you’ve heard from him, and now he's gone forever. He was your best friend, they all were, but he mattered the most to you. He left it for the four of you, the place where you truly felt at home, the place where the dragonflies reside. The game takes place in an old vacation home by a lake, where five boys spent their summers together, collecting dragonflies. Years later they meet again, after one of them, the owner of the home, has passed away and left the other four the house and all of its content, including their old dragonfly collection. Even though it has been abandoned for decades, the place looks and feels almost the same, except for one thing, there are no more dragonflies. Setup: Each of the four players randomly receives one of the following sentences expressing their feelings towards the deceased friend and one item left specifically for them by the owner, which defines their character. (The items and sentences are not linked to one another and a player can get any combination of item-sentence from the list. An item or a sentence cannot appear twice in the same game.) The sentences: 1. The one thing I could never tell him was _______ 2. I was his friend only because of ______ 3. I was so jealous of him for ______ 4. He thought I didn’t know that ______ In each of the items there is a hidden message. The items: 1. A pocket watch and in it a note that says "for you I kept the dragonfly we caught when we were ten" 2. A small handbook and in it records of dates (no year, just the date itself) and dragonflies caught each day. Under one of the records in the middle of the handbook it is written in a different color "I left this one for you"

A pocket watch and in it a note that says "for you I kept the dragonfly we caught when we were ten"2. A small handbook and in it records of dates (no year, just the date itself) and dragonflies caught each day. Under one of the records in the middle of the handbook it is written in a different color "I left this one for you"3. A pen with a roll-out page (pictures attached in the end of the file) that on its stem it says "for you the dragonfly we chased all day"4. An empty packet of pills, and in their instruction and ingredient manual it says in handwriting "remember that time we caught that dragonfly and you scratched your knee? That one's yours"Game mechanics:The game is made of two stages; one is the present stage, on this stage all players begin as their adult characters. The other is the past stage, where flashback scenes are acted out. On the past stage stands an empty chair, covered by a white sheet, to represent the fifth friend. The players are allowed (and encouraged) to talk to the chair and react to it as though it was their friend."Past" scenes can be acted at any time, and when they do the scene on the "present" stage freezes, any amount of players can participate in a past scene - whether it is one player or all four of them and they may play the characters of other players from the group. For example, Tommy and Oliver's characters are having a heated argument on the "present" stage. The two other players may choose to pause the "present" scene and act out a scene on the "past" stage, playing as Tommy and Oliver's characters, and not as their own characters, giving g the argument from the "present" context. Every "past" scene must end with the capturing of a dragonfly. The game is ended by a dragonfly flies into the house on the "present" stage.Pen:The pen in its opened form, the stem is the inner part marked in yellow (not on the page itself)The pen in its closed form
