Practicum is designed to eliminate errors in ordering of CT scans from outside medical offices. By creating an electronic protocol manual, medical office personnel will then be able to order the proper test for patients to include: oral and IV contrast agents, lab work and proper anatomy. Practicum Overview

Identify which outside medical offices are in need of this electronic manualTrain outside medical office on use of electronic manualPut electronic protocol manual in full operation. Supply office(s) with a hard (paper) copy for electrical backup if computer systems were to go down

Practicum Objectives

Practicum began on June 10, 2015 and finished August 10, 2015Floor nurses were educated on definition of without and with contrast exams Outside offices which had been identified as offenders were trained The electronic manual has been used at a practice sitestill working out some of the kinks
