These sketches were taken from a series used to teach the artificial language Ceqli by using pictures only,
without another language for interpreting.Since long time ago i loved the idea to teach a
language through pictures, without using another language for interpreting.
These pictures here are a good opportunity, but they were made for a very different constructed language,
Ceqli.Ceqli follows quite a different logic and different
purposes. For example, in Ceqli the most important thing seems to be differentiating female from male
through suffixes. Dama has no suffixes other than to clearly differentiate words as nouns, verbs and
adverbs. While Ceqli uses some times head-final and some times head-initial construction, Dama is
consistently head-final.Although in this story verbs are very rare, still it is
important to make a start in Dama without using one’s first language for interpreting.
So, my aknowledgements to the talented Ceqli sketch drawer, and may you enjoy this comic while
learning some basic grammar and a good basis of the Dama 252 suffixed plus 6 unsuffixed words
vocabulary.
