What is a Zero Client?
The is no fixed definiton!
Many different definitions ofZero Clients– Hardware only– Hardware optimized software– Software only
The concept is to offer a dedicated functionality for a defined solution – VMware View or Citrix XenDesktop
Zero Clients do have CPU, RAM, Flash and an OS

Teradici PCoIP Clients
– pros• Plug & Play (Connection Broker is found automatically)• Rich multimedia performance by Teradici
– cons:• Unflexible (Only Vmware View)• No full support for VMware View Support (e.g.Client Side
Caching)• Full bandwidth of PCoIP –so LAN only• Only limited updates• Protocol in Hardwarechip is not future-proofed• Still needs management
– User experience still needs configuration by Teradici Management
– Manage devices individually or by group (i.e. location, department, function) – Teradici web site

ARM based Zero Clients
New CPU technology
Lower power consumption
Often enhanced by DSP to accelerated protocols (HDX/ICA, RemoteFX).
Usually a single solution (e.g. Only Citrix)
Without optimized software only average performance
Limited availability of ARM optimized Software
Normal Thin Client with new hardware platform
