Thinking about studying Music? Thinking through Music Theory Expressive Arts We will cover Grade 1 to Grade 5 Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) music theory. This is a requirement for almost every music course at university and is also a great way to gain more UCAS points or develop your interest in music. You will study music terminology in Italian, German and French, learn composing skills, analytical skills and use numeracy and literacy in highly creative and expressive contexts. Skills Focus Learning Intentions Success Criteria I will: learn about music notation. learn about composing and how to turn my knowledge of music notation into a piece of music. learn how to communicate in music through notation or language. I can: Demonstrate my knowledge and understanding through reading and writing music. compose music to the required standard using a range of different musical techniques. follow musical directions in a number of languages, communicate these with peers and express myself through music. Recognition of Achievement You will be entered for ABRSM exam (Grades 1-5 available) Learning Intentions & Success Criteria
