Development of an educational network to strengthen
education, training and outreach in Latin America:
LANENT-Latin American Network for Education in
Nuclear Technology by

In the current century networks has played an important role in the dissemination of
experiences, information exchange and training of human resources for different area of
expertise.
The IAEA has encouraged the regions, through its member states, the creation of
educational networks to meet rapidly and efficiently the dissemination and exchange of
knowledge between professionals and students in the nuclear area.
The Latin American Network for Education in Nuclear Technology (LANENT) was
established to contribute to preserving, promoting and sharing nuclear knowledge as
well as fostering nuclear knowledge transfer in the Latin American region.
LANENT seeks to increase technical and scientific cooperation among its members
in so far as to promote the benefits of nuclear technology and foster the progress and
development of nuclear technology in areas such as education, health, the industry, the
government, the environment, the mining industry, among others.

brochure format for High Schools teachers of physics and
chemistry.)
• LANENT SITE - BROADCAST MATERIALS
• IAEA PROVIDED SOFTWARES FOR E-LEARNING AND
NKM ACTIVITIES (Articulate and Adobe Acrobat)
• Course for training the teachers to develop
online activities on Moodle LMS (Chile and
Peru) 36 participants.
• Pre-training online course for preparing the
participants before the class starts.
• NKM Training of the LA professionals (The 1st
NKM course in LA will be offered in December
2016 in Brazil)
