Speaking of fun, thank you to everyone who attended our TPA Summit in Minneapolis. You made it our largest Summit yet! Our keynote, Ross Shafer, taught us how to future proof our companies and that one POW moment needs five WOW moments to overcome. We also learned about innovations in bundled payments, Specialty Drugs, and Direct Primary Care. One of the most talked about sessions was the one on medical cannabis. Mike Sullivan explored where medical evidence currently exists to support coverage and how to develop a responsible and sustainable program. No samples, but lots of comments and questions ensued. As always, we could not have done it without the support of our sponsors. Please thank them when you see them. We are grateful for what are sponsors mean to our association. We have opened registration for our Executive Forum February 4-6, 2019 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. I’m so very excited about the agenda we have put together. It is definitely a MUST attend! I wish you all success in your 4 th quarter endeavors. Take some time during this “busy season” to not only take care of business but also to take care of yourself and your loved ones. Hope to see you in Vegas! Fun Fact: The famous Las Vegas Strip is not located within the city limits of Las Vegas. The Strip actually comes under the jurisdiction of Clark County.

President’s Message By Joanie Verinder, HCAA President

Wow, it’s 4th quarter already! Time flies when you are having fun.

Reminder: Medicare Part D Notices Due by October 15

Employers who sponsor group health plans that offer prescription drug coverage to Medicare-eligible individuals are reminded that they must provide a Medicare Part D Creditable or Non-Creditable Coverage Notice to those individuals by October 15. These notices serve to inform Medicare-eligible individuals whether the prescription drug coverage offered is “creditable,” meaning it is expected to pay, on average, as much as the standard Medicare prescription drug coverage.

For more information on this notice requirement, including links to downloadable model notices, click here.
