Slide 2 This flame is a yellow / orange colour. It is roughly 300C. It is not used to heat anything, it only shows that the Bunsen burner is on. It is called the safety flame. The medium flame, also called the blue flame. It is the most commonly used flame. It is approximately 500C. This flame is called the roaring blue flame. It is known by a light blue triangle in the middle and it is the only flame which makes a noise. It is roughly 700C. Slide 3 Test tubes are used to hold different materials when doing experiments, they can be heated and can be frozen. They can hold almost any material. Slide 4 Thermometers are not only used in science however they are essential in science, they allow us to know what temperature the materials we are experimenting on, are. It is important because the temperature can change the results of experiments a lot. Slide 5 The clamp can hold different science equipment including test tubes. It can hold them over the Bunsen burner to heat them up. Slide 6 A tripod holds things which dont fit into a clamp, for example a beaker, above a flame. Slide 7 Beakers hold different substances which test tubes cant hold, they come in different sizes and can be frozen or heated just like a test tube.
