This half term we will be covering the IPC unit Treasure Island. During this unit we will be learning about pirates, who have been both fascinating and feared in equal measure. We will find out who these people were, and how they lived and travelled. Ahoy mateys! Let's explore the globe like pirates! English In English this term we will be looking at Pirate and adventure stories Recapping our main writing skills from this year Guided Reading Comprehension Maths In Maths this term we will be looking at Time - tell the time to five minutes, link to a number line, understand the time within a day, start and end times Weight, Volume and Temperature—standard units, measures in everyday life, reasoning, scales Class Information Year Two will doing PE on Tuesdays and Thursdays but please leave kits in school if this is easier. PE kit is a white t-shirt, shorts and plimsolls or train- ers. Homework will be given on a Friday and is due back to school on a Wednesday. New spellings are given out on a Tuesday and tested the follow- ing Monday. Children also need to be reading at home. They should be reading each book more than once to help improve their fluency. Please ensure you are listening to your child read at least three times a week.. Please Can You Help? Design and build a pirate ship using junk/scrap. Investigate materials and objects which float and sink. Draw a table to show your findings. Create a pirate ship which can float. Many Thanks Miss Clark
