All of the slaves were forced to go to America and the west indies . The reason why they went to the west indies as well as America is because a white man was in charge of the west indies . Music played a very important in the slaves life and the reason is that it was a way of life and to express their unhappiness .

The thing that made Africa slaves life's horrible was by sailing in ships and sold to work on farms with no break .

The popular instrument they played was the drums and it was played exciting rhymes .jawbones became scrappers when the teeth were scraped with keys or metal objects . The off beat rhythm is a jangling with a rhythm. A list of all the instruments played were shakers ,hands ,drums ,fingertips , sticks ,bones and jawbones .
