“A Shaken House”Pastor John Foley

April 1, 2012

Scripture: Mark 11:15-19

Theme: Jesusʼ first priority and activity after entering Jerusalem is to violently overturn the tables of money-changers in the Temple.  He then declares that Godʼs house is to be a house of prayer for all nations.  A shaken house receives Godʼs judgement, but also an invitation to be restored and filled with Godʼs forgiveness and presence.

Objective: Today we offer up that which needs to be shaken free from our homes and church home in order to be filled with Godʼs holy presence and power.

God's ________ is the dwelling place of God.

Through ___________  God's house is filled with His presence.

God's house should be a welcome blessing to ___________    ______________.

interceding for & loving one another

Welcome!Welcome and thanks for joining us this morning. We hope you enjoy the worship time and fellowship here at Faith and will stick around and join us for a cup of coffee afterwards. If you are new or visiting and you’d like to learn more about Faith, we invite you to speak to any usher, greeter, or staff member. Here are a few helpful tips for newcomers and guests:

• “Connect” guest/prayer cards are located in the pew holders in front of you. We’d love to get acquainted, so please feel free to let us know how we can serve you.

• Children’s Church: We promote inter-generational worship and, for this reason, kids in grades K-5 join their parents during the beginning portion of the worship service and are dismissed after the offering. Birth-preschool kids have childcare provided in the Early Childhood wing for both services. Parents of visiting families, please accompany your kids to the lobby following the offering to check them into the children’s programs.

• Assisted hearing devices are available. Ask any usher.

• All parents please accompany your children (grade 3 and under) on any errands, to classes, restrooms, etc., and please pick up children promptly--then enjoy after-service fellowship time.

• Services typically run about 65-70 minutes.
