Members All:On Oct 1st, our Ritual Team performed the Initiatory Ritual in competition at Freehold Lodge. The team performed in the best Tradition of Middletown Lodge. I would like to thank the officers and coaches for their efforts. Thanks also to all the Members who came out to support the team.I am pleased to announce that we finished First in the District, and thus we will compete in the State Ritual Contest in February.October 11th was our District Deputy pre-visit, where the DD and his team evaluate the Lodge. Participation by our Officers and committee chairmen were outstanding. The reports rendered, were clear and concise in explaining how we meet our obligations to The Grand Lodge. We have met our obligations in all areas.October 14th was the occasion of our own Ed Hahns Homecoming. Attendance by our members and District and State Members was excellent. PDD Dan Maloney emceed and Don Anderson gave out Ritual awards. For the first time an award in the name of our own “CHUCK BOLIN” was awarded to the team that exemplifies dedication to the Ritual. I am pleased to announce that Middletown won this great award! The Plaque is hanging on the wall of the Lounge for all to see. We have no intentions of it every leaving here!! Dinner by Mike Parulis, Don DesFosse and team was great. Music by D.J. Nick Figaro entertained all. We are honored to have Ed as our District Deputy.
The next day was Spectacular!! FINNEGANS WAKE. Finnegan has more lives than a cat. He has been buried more times than I can count! I don’t recall him being as Hairy as he was this year, maybe he is using Rogaine! To Mike Dickie, Mike Veth, Louise and all who organized this event, a big thank you. Bob Kegley and the Ocean County Emerald Society Pipe and Drummers ROUND THE HOUSE who supplied the music were great. The highlight of the night was the Performance of
the DEVRIN ACADEMY IRISHSTEP DANCERS. Their performance literally
brought down the house. I would love to see these young ladies again. Maybe St. Patricks Day? Well done Tom Cribbins on the District Soccer Shoot-Out October 23rd. Four from our Lodge advanced. THANK YOUThe Annual Luncheon and Gift Auction was success. It was held on October 1st and I would like to say “Thank You” to those who attended, supported and helped with this important endeavor. Melissa, Kathy M., Ginger R.., Cathy G., Betty, Tisa, Nancy B., Tara, Lisa, Nancy H., Miss Jane and of course our 50/50 Queen Fran without your support “WE” would not have had such a success. I can’t forget Jeff M. and the guys for transporting all the gifts to the venue. As special thanks to Isabelle and her Mom, Maria for making the chocolates. They were so delicious. Also to our little helper, you helped brighten the day. Our cause was worthy. To those who are survivors and those we have lost may the world shine because of you. To all the winners and our friends (Nancy M., Deb, Patti, Lillian, Susan, Sandy, Myrtle and Dottie’s white table) we hope you all had a good time.
Thank once again, Liz Revill
