In the agriculture we use pesticides, and this pollutes the groundwater.

The acid rain can filter into the ground.

Toxic materials mix with the water in the factories, and they get back to the lakes and rivers without cleaning.

Lots of oil gets into the water because of accidents. Oil is drifting on the top of water, so the sun can’t get under the water.
