will be building over the next several months to launch a new non-traditional worship

ter. We will be developing this new worship service to welcome people of a variety of
age groups who are spiritual and drawn to Jesus, maybe went to church years ago, and
yet feel uncomfortable in a traditional church setting. Three Worship Events will take
place during the summer for worshipers to explore liturgy, music, and creative
elements to get a feel for what contemporary worship looks like for First Pres Manhat-
tan. The first event will be a Revival Sing-Along on Wednesday, June 7 at 6:30 p.m.
Contact Pastor Kati for more information and follow our Facebook Page for updates
over the summer.

Deacons’ Offering –The Deacons’ offering will be taken today following the wor-
ship service. This offering provides for our ministry to this congregation and the
community, along with frequent gifts to national and international missions. The
Deacons minister to the congregation by sponsoring events such as the Ice Cream
Social and the Deacons’ Dinner. They also visit our members in the hospital, deliver
treats to our shut-ins, and minister to the community by offering financial assistance.
We encourage you to help those in need.
Tragedy, when associated with war and terror, has struck our nation countless times over
its 240+ year history, including The Civil War, the World Wars, The Great Depression,
the Oklahoma City bombing, Sandy Hook in Newtown, the Charleston church killings,
and now the age of terror. Yet our nation with its roots in the Judeo-Christian tradition
bounces back with confidence and resiliency every time, but not without great pain and
sorrow.
Today marks the beginning of a three-part series entitled: “The Goodness That
Exists,” which will talk about the importance of our faith today and how it can supply
ourselves and others with hope for the future, and how it has done so in the past. The
sermon series, delivered by Rev. R.C. McConnell, begins today and will continue June
11, and June 25th. The sermon on June 18 will feature a special Father’s Day theme.
