SDST in association with British Council Pakistan organised 6th Take a Child to School Program training workshop in Larkana from 1-4 Oct. 2014. There were total 31 young participants in the training.

SDST in association with British Council Pakistan organised 5th Take a Child to School Program training workshop in Khairpur from 26-29 Sept. 2014 in Gambat Khuhra district Khairpur. There were total 31 young participants in the training.

Sep , 2014 CLEAR-LAPA Project Sewa Development Trust Sindh signed an agreement with LEAD Pakistan for CLEAR-Climate Leadership for Effective Adaptation and Resilience in District Khairpur for LAPA- Local adaptation Plan of Action with financial support of UKAID. Under the project activities are to provide awareness and knowledge to farmer communities on Climate Change, New Crop Calendar and provide necessary agriculture input support for new crop calendar adaptation. An MOU-Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with District Agriculture Department, Govt. of Sindh for mutual activities and preparations of IEC material and publications.

Attiya Rural Development Foundation (ARDF) Activities in District Larkana as on 3-10-
2014
ARDF voluntary team in association with Alif Ailaan-Pakistan, jointly organized Education Awareness
community dialogue session under ILM Possible (Take a child to school project) supported by Sewa
Development Trust Sindh & British Council-Pakistan at Bagari community Latif colony, Rahmatpur Muhalla
District Larkana. A large number of children’s, teachers, parents, NGOs representatives and civil society
participated in the session.

In the October round, WFP assisted 437,605 individuals displaced from NWA with 3,819 MT of food in Bannu,
Peshawar, D.I. Khan, Kohat and Kurram Agency.
ACF and ACTED is implementing the cash based interventions in hosting districts of KP and FATA to
the NWA temporary displaced person.
FAO provided 100,000 doses of PPR (Peste des Petits Ruminants) vaccine to the provincial Livestock
and Dairy Development Department, vaccination of animals has been ongoing this different areas.
FAO is providing the animal compound feed, urea molasses blocks, feeding, milking kits and foot-and-
mouth disease vaccines to, initially, 10,000 NWA IDP families in district Bannu and FR Bannu.
FAO is implementing a Belgium funded project for livestock support with provision of livestock
vaccination and targeting near 24,000 families in district Bannu.
JEN has started the activities for provision of livestock support which include animal feed, vaccination
for foot and mouth diseases, animal shelter and livestock management training in district Bannu and
assessment has completed to reach and assist the 1,500 families.
Assessment and identification of beneficiaries has completed for the ERF funded projects, would help
to improve the food security of livelihoods of displaced peoples in hosting areas. JEN, Muslim Aid and
SHID are going to support livestock support and will reach a total 2,430 families in hosting districts of
KP especially, Lakki Marwat and Karak.

NDMA Updates on Floods 2014 as of 16-10-2014 MIRA Report Finalized
In order to determine the humanitarian needs and assess the initial damages/losses caused by floods 2014,
NDMA in line with the directions of the government and in collaboration with UN system, PDMA and NGOs
undertook the Multi- sector Initial Rapid Assessment (MIRA) from 13 to 26 September 2014. The exercise was
conducted in five worst flood affected districts namely Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Chiniot, Jhang and
Multan. The MIRA report has been finalized in consultation with UN system and PDMA during this week.
To further refine the MIRA tool and learn lessons from MIRA- 2014 exercise, a meeting was held in UNOCHA
on 16 October 2014, chaired by UN HC/RC and attended by Member (Ops), Director (R&R) from NDMA, Head,
Deputy Head and staff of OCHA and sectoral experts from various agencies. A joint working session on the
lessons learned from MIRA 2014 was held and participants shared their experience from MIRA 2014 exercise.
It was agreed to continue the process to further refine MIRA tool.
