Opportunities and Tutoring during the school year

Summer programs to

further address deficits for students

Core Program Enhancements

• Illustrative Math: grades 1-8

• Into Reading: grades K-5

• Other content areas and levels:

• Revision of curricular scope and sequence to ensure critical skills are taught directly

• May include compacting of certain topics

• Schools are adjusting time and resources based on data

i-Ready Data: Elementary Instructional Implications

• Elementary Reading: Teachers are using i-Ready data to determine needs of students and form small groups. During small group instruction students receive targeted support based on the needs assessment analysis report. Districtwide data indicates students in the primary grades need targeted supports in foundational skills and students in the intermediate grades need to focus on vocabulary instruction. Teachers incorporate decodable readers two times a week in kindergarten, first and second grade.

• Elementary Math: Teachers are using i-Ready data to determine what instructional priorities should be addressed during the 30 minutes of intervention time. Teachers may use the data to assign focused DreamBox lessons to be completed.

i-Ready Data: Middle School Instructional Implications

• Middle School Language Arts: Teachers determine students' strengths and needs by analyzing i-Ready data with classroom data to differentiate instruction. After analyzing data, teachers utilize a variety of resources (Commonlit.org, Short Reads, i-Ready resources, and Junior Great Books) for both whole class and small group lessons.

• Middle School Math: Teachers are using i-Ready data to determine the needs of students and form small groups during Math Workshop, which occurs within the double math block. Activities are selected directly from the i-Ready Tools for Instruction.

i-Ready Data: High School Instructional Implications

• Grade 9 English: Teachers are using i-Ready data to group students. Teachers utilize i-Ready resources, English curriculum, and Commonlit resources to differentiate lessons for the student groups. English, Science, and Social Studies teachers will also concentrate on vocabulary study.

• Grade 9 Math: Teachers are using i-Ready data to build assignments for students in IXL and use i-Ready resources to work on prerequisite knowledge. Teachers will also use the data to format warm-up questions and spiral reviews to build skills needed for the Algebra 1 MCAP Curriculum. Teachers will also group students according to lacking skills to differentiate lessons.
