Thrive-in-Five Model

Employers have long suspected that a healthy worker is a more productive worker, but the idea of addressing health has broadened over the years to encompass much more than preventing work-related injuries.

Today, employers face multifaceted challenges. With nearly half of all U.S. adults plagued with one or more chronic disease and employer sponsored healthcare costs increasing, organizations are shifting costs back onto employees. As a result, 70% of the U.S. workforce has become disengaged.

Through P5 Performance™, Dakota Medical Foundation wants to change this. The constructs behind P5 Performance ™ are backed by research and have been proven to build on an organization’s strategy to improve employee productivity and overall business performance.

This report has been structured to cover the five key constructs that have the most impact on healthy, high-performing organizations and the structure of the report. The 5 P’s consist of:

Purpose Fueling EngagementIn this section of your Thrive-in-Five wellness inventory, you will discover how purpose-driven organizations are able to increase employee productivity and engagement by defining and clearly articulating their purpose to employees across the entire organization.

People Empowering PerformersIn this section of your Thrive-in-Five wellness inventory, you will uncover how well your organization supports employees to be successful and improve engagement.

Places Reinforcing Well-beingIn this section of your Thrive-in-Five wellness inventory, you will find the elements of a workplace that maximize employee health andproductivity.

Practices Enhancing Health

In this section of your Thrive-in-Five wellness inventory, you will uncover key wellness programs that increase employee job satisfaction and performance, as well as lower healthcare costs. Performance Driving Impact

In this section of your Thrive-in-Five wellness inventory, you will measure key performance metrics that matter most to achieving success, sustainability, and impact.

Empowering Performers

Maintaining an engaged workforce has never been so challenging. With less than half of the working population feeling excited to do their job each day and remaining committed to their employers, organizations need to continually strive to be better advocates for their employees’ needs.

This section of the Thrive-in-Five Wellness Inventory focuses on the key advantage to your organization - the people. By answering the 22 questions in this section, we’ve generated a score that helps you evaluate how well your organization is doing with empowering, supporting, and fostering the development of your employees.

Knowing that disengaged employees are unhappy, less likely to be passionate about the work they’re doing and are actively spending time doing things unrelated to their tasks at hand, like searching for new opportunities, it’s important to truly focus on how to build stronger employee engagement.

Reinforcing Well-being

From the physical layout to the colors on the wall, businesses have the ability to create supportive environments that foster employee engagement. Organizations without strategic workplace design suffer from lower employee productivity.

This section of the Thrive-in-Five Wellness Inventory focuses on the workplace environment. By answering the 21 questions in this section, we’ve generated a score that helps you reflect on what your organization does to ensure employees have the right workplaces they need to be healthy and productive.

Employee satisfaction and productivity can be negatively affected due to workplace distractions caused by workspace setups. Addressing the layout and design of your workplace, rather than focusing on saving money, shows a commitment to your employees that collaboration, creativity, and their health really matter.
