Open Days and Open Evening: We will be holding ‘Open Days’ for parents/carers looking for a school place for September 2019 start and beyond. Please make family and friends aware if you feel the open days would be of interest to them. An Open Evening will be held on Tuesday 4th December 4pm-6.30pm. The closing date for applications for September 2019 is 15th January 2019. If you know anyone who would be interested in our school, then please let them know. If you are unable to attend any of these sessions – please let school know and we will do our best to accommodate you. Class 4: As you are aware Mr. Murphy is absent from school as he is unwell. The children are being taught by Mrs Porter on Monday –Wednesday’s (Mrs Porter is doing an extra day in school) and Mrs Spencer (a very experienced and qualified teacher) and myself on Thursdays and Fridays. Christmas Pantomime: On Friday 21st December – the last day of term, the whole school will be going to watch ‘Cinderella’ at Preston Guild Hall. PLEASE MAKE PAYMENT OF £17.50 PER CHILD VIA PARENT PAY ASAP IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY DONE SO. Stay & Pray: Our ‘Stay & Pray Worships’ for this half term will take place at 9:05am-9:15am on:

Tuesday 4th December – EYFS. Parents please wait in the foyer to be taken up to class. Whole School Worship: Our final ‘Whole School Worship’ for this term will take place at 2.45pm on Monday 3rd December it will be led by Cl 4 ‘Advent’ BERT club: Our final ‘BERT club (Boys Enjoy Reading Together) for this half term will take place at 2.45pm on Wednesday 28th November for our Class 4 boys. Parents please wait in the foyer to be taken up to the library. Swimming: On Tuesday 27th November our Y5 and Y6 children begin swimming sessions on Tuesday afternoons. Girls must wear a one piece swimsuit and boys must wear trunks or tight fitting swim shorts. All children must wear swim caps – these are no longer available from school.
Zumba with Ruth…… Every Wednesday in the school hall, Zumba classes are held by Ruth Sutton – a qualified Zumba instructor. Classes are 8pm-9pm, £5 per person. Come along with your friends and exercise in a fun way. Please come and support these classes. As they take part in the school hall, these weekly classes help support our school. Building Fund. We would be grateful if this could be paid as soon as possible via ParentPay. Recycling: A reminder that batteries can be recycled in the container situated on the school playground. Christmas in school: The very exciting and busy time in school that is Christmas is fast approaching. A letter containing all of the dates up to the end of term will be coming home tomorrow. CHRISTMAS FAIR on Saturday 24th November, 11am to 1pm in Tunley Church hall. Stalls include:- Raffle, Tombola, Bric-a-brac & Jewellery, Home-made Cakes & Pies, Crafts, Gifts & Toys, Pingawings stall and Plants. Win a Christmas Cake and Guess the name of Tunley's Christmas Teddy. Visit Santa in his Grotto. Light lunches will be served. Everyone welcome! St Joseph’s Church Christmas Fair: To take place on Sunday 9th December following the 9.30am Mass. Refreshments and stalls. Everyone welcome. CHRISTMAS CONCERT on Friday 7th December at 7.30pm in Tunley Church hall. Entertainment by Coppull and Standish Brass Band. Come along and enjoy the festive evening.
