Dear Parents and Community members, Open Night As part of our Reporng to Parents Policy, Mount Pleasant Primary School will be holding an Open Night on Tuesday August 22. Classrooms will be open between 5.30pm and 6.30pm. This is an opportunity for parents to peruse their childrens’ work, monitor their progress and view the classroom displays. This is not the me to obtain individual student progress reports from teachers. Please make an appointment should you wish to discuss your child’s progress in a more in-depth maer. In this context, I recommend that you to maintain regular contact with your classroom teacher. This could be by email, Connect or face to face interviews. There should never be any surprises. Regular contact will ensure this, and give you the opportunity to support your child and the classroom program. Car Parks Several parents are sll using the staff car parks as pick up and drop off zones. This is an extremely dangerous pracce for our students and I strongly urge you to stop. PEAC Tesng PEAC tesng is available for all Year 4 students across Western Australia in August of each year. All students in Year 4 will have the opportunity to be assessed for suitability for the PEAC program. The students sit two tests which measure the students' ability to recognise paerns and to predict with speed and accuracy. The tesng takes approximately 50 minutes and will be administered at 9am on Thursday 17 August in the school library. The scores from the test will be used in the selecon of students for PEAC courses and extension programs during 2018 to 2019. It is expected that the results from PEAC tesng will be provided to schools by October 31 2017. If you do not wish for your child to be included in the PEAC assessment please inform the school in wring by emailing [email protected] as soon as possible.
