In a bridge game after lunch, Mrs. Stephen held high score. MRS. WELLS ENTERTAINS FOR MRS. CHAPMAN Saturday, Oct. 21st. Mrs. Henry H. Wells gave a dinner at her home at the head of Prospect Street in celebration of the twenty-fifth wedding anniversary of her niece, Mrs. James Chap- man, and Mr. Chapman of Kmderhook, near Albany. . Mrs. Chapman is the former Katherine Lippincott, daughter of Mrs. Mary Lippincott of White Plains, Mrs. Wells' sister, and the late James Lippincott. There were twenty-three in the family group. The celebration took place in the same house in which Mr. and Mrs. Chapman were married in 1936. JThe regular monthly meeting of the Womens* Association of the Brewster Presbyterian Church will be held at Reed Chapel on Tuesday, October 31. Dessert will be served at 1:00 p.m. The hostesses are Mrs. Sidney Pitches and Mrs. Roy Johnsen. The Women's Association of the Presbyterian Church will meet at Reed Chapel for a business meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 31, at I p.m. Dessert will be served by Mrs. Sidney Pitches and Mrs. Roy Johnson, and all women of the congregation are invited to attend. Mrs. George Schneider, who celebrated a birth- birthday on Sunday, was present- ed with a beautifully decorated cake by Mrs. Harold Beal, and the company joined in singing the Happy Birthday Song. This day was also the wedding anniver- sary of Mr. and Mrs. Schneider. Prize winners were Mrs. Albert Mead, Mrs. Harold Beal and Mrs. Schneider, and a traveling prize was won by Mrs. Frank Frost. Foley and children enjoyed a picnic at Kent Falls on Tuesday and later drove up Ml. Grcylock. They report the foliage gorgeous in bright fall colors. Mr. and Mrs. William Newman were given a surprise house warming at their new home on Tonetta Lake Road on Saturday with about thirty guests attend- ing. Hostesses for the party were Mrs. David Bruen, Mrs. Robert Butler, and Mrs. Robert Charest. The Newmans were presented with a gift and coffee and a beautifully decorated cake were served by the hostess. The twenty-third anniversary dinner of the Italian-American Club of Brewster was held at Colasacco's Restaurant last week. Honored were the founders of the Club. Mrs. John Land, Mrs. Aldo Sagrati, Mrs. Levia Santorelli, Mrs. Sadie Destino, Mrs. Anthony Bruschini, Mrs. Andy Coniglio, Mrs. N. Cioccolanti, Mrs. James Snidero and Mrs. Ccsarc Pigat. Mrs. Franklin Snow, of 215 Lake Avenue, Danbury, entertained at a dessert bridge benefitting the Senior Club of St. James Church' on Thursday evening. She was assisted by Miss Ella Anderson AND Miss Marion Hoyt. Mrs, Snow, a former resident . of Brewster, has many friends in the village who are pleased to know she has recovered from a long illness. Miss Margaret Hart entertain- ed the Other Saturday bridge club for dessert and cards at her home on Drewville Heights on Oct. 21. Guest of the club was Mrs. A. C. Penny, who was presented with a beautifully decorated birthday cake by the hostess. Prize winners were Mrs. Harold Beal and Mrs. A. S. King. A traveling prize was won by Miss Marge Mackey. Mr. G. Frederick Swenson, of King Street, won the annual award of the Fairfield County Camera Club in which nine camera clubs, including the city of New Haven club, are members. Mr. Swenson was presented,with the award at a dinner meeting at Trumbull, Conn., last week. His entry was a black and white print entitled "Sprial.'» In the most recent monthly competition of the Candlewood Camera Club, Mr. Swenson received first for his black and white print titled "Katrinka." He shot a moose, a caribou, and a bear, and the moose head is being shipped to him and will occupy a promi- nent place in the Maroney living room. Mrs. Harold Knapp has been confined to her home for seveeral days as a result of an accident in the corridor of the Readers' Digest plant in Pleasantville.
