GETTING THEREYour flights are an important part of your experience. International flights are available to complete your China package.

WHERE YOU STAYYour accommodations are selected for convenience of location, comfort or character, and can range from a business hotel in one city to a family-run guesthouse in a smaller town. In more remote areas, accommodations may be of a lower standard and may not have all Western amenities. Rest assured that all hotels used by Wendy Wu Tours are regularly inspected by our staff and our partners to ensure that standards meet your needs.

FOOD AND DRINKMeals included are planned to give you a genuine taste of the regions we visit. Breakfast is a combination of local and Western food, usually served buffet style. Lunches and dinners consist of traditional local cuisine, served family style, with a wide range of dishes to choose from. Our fully inclusive Group Tours include all meals (excluding drinks). Private Tours provide some free evenings, offering flexibility for those who wish to explore the local restaurants.

Many inclusions are incorporated on our Escorted Group Tours, assuring your time in China is enjoyable and hassle free. While on tour, you will be accompanied by a NationalEscort from the time you arrive at the airport until youre seen off at the end of your tour. In addition, you will meet a local guide in each city who will offer further insight into the destinations and sights. Food is an important part of any culture and the included three meals per day provides a wide variety of Chinese cuisine. A visa is required and included in the cost of your tour. A maximum of 28 passengers on a 45 passenger bus provides comfort throughout the day and all itineraries offer full days of sightseeing, domestic flights and entrance fees.

  • LOCAL TRAVELThe transport selected as part of your tour is intended to combine convenience and comfort with an enjoyably authentic travel experience. We believe that our customers like to be travelers as well as tourists, so you are not always separated from the locals. Our Group Tours are predominantly conducted using air-conditioned coaches, internal flights, trains and various types of boats.

PACEThe Group Tours are graded as Comfortable, Medium and Active paced to reflect the level of fitness required. Alternatively, the range of Private Tours are more flexible and can better cater to individual needs.

GROUP SIZESTraveling with a small group of likeminded fellow travelers is a great way to enjoy new places, share new experiences and meet new people. The maximum number of passengers on the Classic Group Tours is no more than 28 passengers on a full-sized bus. Please Note: Minimum age for children is 12.

Private Tours may be arranged for any number of travelers and are ideal for couples, families or groups of friends, who wish to enjoy a more personalized experience.

NO HIDDEN EXTRASClassic Group Tours are fully inclusive of domestic transportation, accommodations, meals, daily tours (including entrance fees), Local Guides, National Escort (minimum 10+ passengers), Visa fees for US and Canadian passport holders and taxes. All you have to pay for locally is tipping and personal expenditures, including any optional excursions or shows you choose to add. Inclusions on Private Tours vary, depending on the itinerary.

OPTIONAL EXTRASFrom time to time, your National Escort or Local Guide may suggest optional tours/sightseeing in addition to the standard sightseeing planned for that city, at an additional cost. Typical activities might include a rickshaw ride through a Hutong district in Beijing or a ride on the Maglev trainin Shanghai.

TIPPINGTipping is a necessary part of the tourism industry worldwide. To avoid uncertainty about who, when and how much to tip, we have established a tipping system whereby all Group Tour passengers contribute to a kitty, paid at the beginning of the tour in cash (US dollars) to the National Escort, who then distributes it throughout the trip. Yangtze River Cruises implement a compulsory tipping service to be paid upon check-in in USD. This has been included in the tip amount for each tour. The tipping protocol can be found on each tour page within this brochure.

    Phnom Penh, Cambodia

  • Discover the magic of China with one of our popular Group Tours. By traveling with a group of likeminded people on tried and tested itineraries, our Group Tours offer a fully inclusive vacation at an excellent value.

YOUR NATIONAL ESCORT PLUS LOCAL GUIDESOne of the key benefits of traveling on a Group Tour is that you will be accompanied by a National Escort throughout your vacation, from your arrival in China right up until you depart for home (minimum 10 passengers). You will also be joined by expert Local Guides who provide an authentic view of each place we visit. Our customers consistently sing the praises about the knowledge and professionalism of our NationalEscorts and Local Guides, particularly their friendly, supportive nature.

GUARANTEED DEPARTURES ON ALL TOURSBook with confidence knowing that our tours are guaranteed to depart. This is subject to a minimum of two passengers traveling and applies to all departures.

A National Escort will accompany each group of over 10 travelers, while groups of a smaller size will use Local Guides only.

SMALL GROUP SIZEThe group size varies depending on the tour, but we offer a maximum of no more than 28 passengers on all Classic Group Tours, and 20 passengers on Premier Tours, although you may meet other groups traveling concurrently. Traveling with a small group of likeminded fellow travelers is a great way to enjoy new places, share new experiences and meet new people.

SEAT-AND-A-HALF POLICYYour comfort is our priority, so for a group of 28 passengers we will use a motorcoach with about 48 seats. This gives our passengers over a seatand a half of space each, allowing ample seating and storage space. On some departures where we have a smaller number of passengers we mayreduce the vehicle size, but we will always endeavor to maintain our seat-and-a-half policy. The only exceptions are where we are in remote areasor are obliged to use official vehicles (e.g., within a national park).
