Tier II Vocabulary Words
Tier two consists of high frequency
words that occur across a variety of domains.
That is, these words occur often in
mature language situations such as adult conversations and literature, and therefore strongly influence speaking and reading.
What is Tier II Vocabulary?

Following is a list of standards for tier two words:
brisk
energetic; quick
He walked briskly down the street. (lines 31-32)
congenial
pleasant or agreeable
On the other hand, a pub would be more congenial than a boarding house. There would be…lots of people to talk to,… (lines 80-83)

rapacious
aggressively greedy
