CELEBRATE RECOVERY MINISTRY

CELEBRATE RECOVERY Meets EVERY TUESDAY NIGHT from 7:00–9:00 PM. If you are dealing with hurts, habits and hang-ups, join us this Tuesday. Adults meet in the Central Hall.

THE LANDING is for students in 6th–12th grade and meets in the East Assembly Room. This ministry helps teens deal with the daily pressures of life by equipping them with tools to deal with those pressures.

CELEBRATION STATION for K-5th graders, is a complementary children’s resource toCelebrate Recovery that meets in Room C212. While adults explore topics that bring heal-ing and wholeness, kids discover the same truths in age-appropriate ways! It has everything you need to lead kids as they make Jesus the enduring, rock-solid foundation of their lives.

YOUNG AT HEART ~ TUESDAY, JUNE 12 ~ 10:30 AM ~ Cost: $10 ~ Fellowship Hall As we age, we can either do so proactively, or just trust everything will be okay. Aging gracefully involves taking stock of what’s important to us, maintaining our own wellness, understanding the limitations of medicine, understanding that we are mortal, and putting plans in place so that, should our health fail, each of us remains the captain of his ship. “You and Your Health” a four panelist discussion provided by Palliative Care and Hospice physicians and healthcare professionals from St. Tammany Parish Hospital. COLLEGE MINISTRY Wednesday, May 30th Summer College Worship and Bible Study Kickoff. We’ll meet each week at 7:30PM in The ROC. Each week we will discuss topics every college student is going through including relationships, finances, purpose, navigating adult life, etc.Saturday, June 30th - Lake Day at the Hunt's Lakehouse.

HOME POINT is a special room designed with family discipleship in mind. This room will be a resource room to help build strong families. KIDS MINISTRY (K - 6th Graders)

“MISSIONS IN MAY” During the month of May, our K-6th grade kids will focus on missions and the work missionaries are doing all over the world. Each week kids will experience “Meet a Missionary” moment, taste-test foods from other countries, play cultural games for kids, and much more. WORLD CHANGERS - JUNE 25-30

Our church is again hosting a week long camp called World Changers. There will be over 200 youth and adults coming from all over the country to serveour city. Individuals and groups can get involved by serving with their time, identifying a person in need in our city, or helping sponsor a project. You may know of someone that is in need of a wheel-chair ramp, deck, exterior paint, exterior maintenance, windows or doors. If so, contact Josh Jordan to get an application at [email protected]. FAMILY ROOM

For your convenience the Family Room is a suite containing a quiet place for families to be able to view the service, as well as a private space for nursing mothers. It is located between the Bookstore and Home Point right outside the Worship Center doors.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

Please join us for our Congregational Meeting, Wednesday, May 30th at 6:45 PM in the Worship Center. Dr. Bailey will report on our building expansion, costs and building payments, and our current “challenging” budget. We will also hear a recommendation from the Finance Ministry Team as well as other routine business.

SCHOOL of ROC | JUNE 20-22, 2018 | 9:00AM-4:00PM | Cost is $40. Taught by Benji & Jenna Cowart, David Logan, Aaron Beasley and special instrumentalists. School of ROC is a worship workshop open to incoming 8th-12th graders who are interested in joining the Ascend Student Praise Team. FAMILY NIGHT at City Park~ SUNDAY, JUNE 24

First Baptist New Orleans & FBC Covington are hosting a Family Night on June 24th from 6:30-9:30PM at City Park in New Orleans. Cost is $35 per family or $10 per individual. Tickets will be available soon. Admission covers unlimited rides in the Amuse-ment Park and entry into Storyland.
