INFORMATION POINT THE ZONE OF CULTURE

The renown of Katowice as a ‘city of coal and steel’ is only a tradition today, based on which a new quali-ty develops. Owing to investments started a few years ago the capital city of the Upper Silesia became a leading centre of culture and busi-ness tourism in Poland. In the very city centre, in the vicinity of the ‘Spodek’ Entertainment-Sports Arena, a brand new district of the city originated, named the Zone of Culture. Apart from the ‘Spodek’ it consists of three great invest-ment projects - the International Congress Centre (MCK), the new building of the National Symphonic Orchestra of Polish Radio and the new Silesian Museum. The build-ings are situated in the area of for-mer ‘Katowice’ mine.
