Earth is divided into 24 time zones.

It takes about 24 hours to rotate once on its axis

Because Earth is constantly spinning, time is constantly changing

However, some timezones have been adjusted in local areas

Why?

So that cities wouldn’t be split it half by a timezone!

International Date Line - 180°meridian - serves as the transition line for calendar days

When you travel west across the Date Line, you advance your calendar one day

When you travel east across the Date Line, you move your calendar back one day
