Suitable for: 2+ years Title: Donald Loves Drumming Make some loud music. Here is a variety of instruments to make and play very loudly like Donald does in the book. You will need: • crayons, textas, pencils, coloured paper, etc. for decorating Drum • icecream container with lid, long piece of ribbon approx. 60cm, 2 spoons. Cardboard shaker • small cardboard roll, cellophane paper, 2 rubber bands, small amount of uncooked rice. Bottle shaker • plastic drink bottle with lid, small amount of uncooked rice. Cymbals • 2 metal tin lids (eg. Milo), ribbon, tape. Instructions Drum - take the lid off the icecream container and tape the ends of the ribbon inside to form a strap. Put the lid back on (see diagram). Use spoons as drumsticks. Cardboard shaker - cut two circles out of cellophane, approx 10cm diameter. Attach one piece of cellophane to one end of the cardboard roll with a rubber band. Place a small amount of uncooked rice into the shaker. Now attach the second piece of cellophane over the other end with a rubber band. Bottle shaker - put a small amount of uncooked rice into the bottle and screw the lid back on. Cymbals - using tape, attach a piece of ribbon to one side of each of the lids to form a handle. See diagram. Decorate your instruments with coloured paper, paint, stickers, stars etc. Make them as bright as possible. Adult supervision is essential when making and playing with home made toys.
