Bastien, Monnaie et Donativa au bas-empire writes about this medallic silver piece was probably distributed on the occasion of Constantine's assumption of his sixth consulship in 320. It was struck in two weights, both as a light miliarense, ca. 4.5 gm, and as a heavy miliarense, ca. 5.4 gm. The heavier denomination is substantially rarer, and among these heavy pieces ours was the heaviest (5.69 g.) known specimen up to day.

Normally the reverse legend of Magnentius is VICTORIA AVG LIB ROMANOR. P. /….. The titular of Magnentius of reverse is associated with the legend of setbacks that normally belongs to Decentius. Bastien indicates the presence of the legend of Magnentius on coins issued at the consulate of Decentius in

352 AD appears to be an intentional "error".

Conversely, here we have the legend of Decentius on a solidus of Magnentius.

ROMAN LIBRA (POUND) In the year 1838 struck August Böckh forwards that the roman Libra (Pound) of French Grän corresponds. That result in a value of 1 / 18.82715 x 6165 equivalent 327.453 g. Theodor Mommsen transferred this value in his work “HISTORY OF THE ROMAN COINAGE”, Berlin 1860. Today„s Metrologist are agreeing that Böckh valued Roman Libra to high. Simon Bendall, in his book Byzantine Weights, An Introduction pointed out that weight for1 Libra between 4-6 century could be adjusted to ca. 324 g. THE EASY LIBRA In the year 1920 Lucien Naville maintained a Roman Libra of only 322.56 gram, whereby it of one Solidus (= 1/72 Libra) from exactly 4.48 gram proceeded. Rosati represented 1953 the same value. 10 Librae Silver-Ingot, 3226.7 g. (1 Libra = 322.67 g.) proofs that Naville and Rosati (1 Libra = 322.56 g.) had right!
